Last announcement for Journey
Added 2023-02-22 04:53:43 +0000 UTCHello everyone. Whew. It’s an emotional moment. After almost three years, 1.3 million words and uncounted hours of effort, Journey is complete.
It’s an especially moving moment for me because Journey was the story that allowed me to become a full time writer. Or rather, it is your support of this story that made it at all possible.
I still remember the first time using Patreon money to buy groceries. It was two years and a half ago precisely. That was the moment I realized that maybe I had found my way. Today, the story that brought me here is finished, hopefully on a good note. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for coming along for the ride. It could not have happened without you. It’s not just the money. All the likes, comments, all of that gives me the motivation to keep going and to strive for better quality. It’s food for the soul, if you will. It also gives me real time feedback on what to improve. It gives me a continued boost of serotonin to carry me through another week. I’ve read very often that writing was a solitary activity. Thanks to this community, it isn’t.
So, what now? I will keep the tier alive until RR catches up with the updates, then at the end of that month, I will close it. Patrons who follow both stories will get another benefit by then so that tier will just have access to other benefits.
I intend to slow down over March and prepare for the next project. Amazon lags far behind RR in terms of content available so I will be working to remedy that as well. I might also alter the schedule for Viv with more regular but shorter updates. I will be conducting... experiments. As for the next project, it will depend on you, readers of all tiers.
Towards the end of March, I will propose two or three stories complete with early chapters and covers. The next project I write will be decided by vote. I fully intend to write them all but you get to pick the first one.
Alright that’s it. Now I’m off to write another Viv chapter. It never ends! So long, fuckers. And thanks for all the fish.

2023-05-24 09:22:34 +0000 UTCThis was such a wonderful ride. As another reader noted, it felt so complete attend that while I would always enjoy hearing more, I find myself entirely content at the end. No regrets at the close of the story. Amazingly well done.

2023-04-05 01:31:09 +0000 UTCI knew the end was coming so I delayed my reading of these last few chapters. So sad to see this story end. I still remember reading the first ten chapters on RR. Truly the GOAT of vampire stories. I can’t even be mad with such a dynamic finish as you came up with. Honestly in the top ten book of all time for me. Annnnnnd now Bob is my salvation. I’ll ready anything you write regardless of edits. It’s just like eating solid gold.

2023-03-27 04:13:45 +0000 UTCMuhahah, all of you reader who have followed the story for months or even years despair! For I have only found the story after it was over and binged the entire thing! Never shall I have to suffer the pain of waiting a week for a single chapter! although, that Calamitous Bob story looks interesting....maybe I'll become a patron.... WAIT NOOOO- *Gets trapped in the weekly update dimension*

2023-03-11 15:24:50 +0000 UTCI wonder why Arthur was called by viv's luck(fate) because it looks like they won rather handidly

2023-03-10 17:46:39 +0000 UTCI didn't read for a month because I wanted to binge, and oh my. It's been a wonderful few years with Ari and co, and I hope to see silly snippets of their future sometime! Viv of course is amazing and I very much look forward to new projects. Last thing, many many authors on royalroad are good at beginnings, sometimes even middles, but very rarely ends. You gave Journey a good end, which I am very grateful for, it would've been so disappointing had such a long great tale finished poorly. Thank you for writing!

2023-02-25 05:16:22 +0000 UTCVery strange to see the end, I remember finding it around chapter 30 on royalroad. Going to miss the weekly chapters.

2023-02-23 01:46:44 +0000 UTCWay to go man! I'm still a little behind but I'm excited. As far as web novels or the "immortal" MC genre goes you did an amazing job with the pacing. I'm 1000 chapters in one and only 10 years has gone by 🤣. Anyways you did great and thanks!
