Conversation Test
Added 2016-03-04 06:54:36 +0000 UTCI've been testing what a possible conversation would look like in the game, flipping monsters, tall vs short monsters, a quickly designed bottom panel, etc. And I'm pretty happy with this. What do you guys think?

Thanks for the good idea! This last month I just converted the UI for the conversation into using the main engine's renderer, so theoretically it's already possible/done, but I haven't done the visual stuff yet. I may be able to get the different layout thing done soon, not sure if it's on my task list for this month though. Right now my priorities are, fixing click on the gpu enhanced items, and making conversation system import/export easily so that the community can start to contribute to the dialogs/stories/etc. :) For that, I have one dependency which is, tie in the conversation system with the character system, but that should be super fast.

2016-06-02 05:53:22 +0000 UTCFor prototyping, just use the bubbles (purple in the screenshot), and have about 4-5 colors. It won't clearly convey anything, but it can work for an early concept of the "changing border" concept.

2016-06-01 22:06:17 +0000 UTCYeah, it would need to transition between the different emotions etc, but that should make it easier to read, and feel right... it will just be a hard thing to prototype early to know if it's a good idea or not.

2016-03-27 14:28:24 +0000 UTCChanging the borders could a good idea, tiny details like that really add a lot to a game surprisingly, plus it would break the atmosphere if there is a serious conversation happening and the borders have a bunch of hearts and smiley faces on them.

2016-03-20 21:52:28 +0000 UTCWell, I made the show/hide functionality in code, and attached it to some test boxes so it works fine, but because of the way I initially coded it, the boxes are always "under" the conversation... (the conversation view was a prototype on top of the entire game... so I have to change it to be more proper before I can make it appear, I'll still keep this as a main focus though for this month).
