No update, sorry. I post Salvos chapters on weekdays and I posted this chap early on Thursday doing a double upload cause I was going on a flight.

2021-07-31 09:59:23 +0000 UTCI think if she developed empathy like "humans" it would take away from her character. She's salvos, demon second. Her care for companions wasn't weird because she was born with those instinct. But saving strangers at the expense of herself n companions will never be salvos. I don't even humans have that level of empathy, so I'd be weird for her to start behaving that way unless the author was writing her to be the next hero or something. Which I pray they arent.

2021-07-31 02:11:12 +0000 UTCSo you've tackled aspects of humanity she used to be able to ignore like sleeping and eating. But are there any plans to cause her to start to have empathy? I had somewhat expected that to be a side effect of partial humanity too. It's not like I expected a hero complex to form but even something basic like feeling bad instead of utterly dismissing all the people killed would make sense. It could also be interesting to see her have differing/more human thoughts when transformed. Maybe you do plan for something like that in the next evolution though. The pacing has been solid though.

2021-07-30 10:46:23 +0000 UTCAgreed. Action is fun and all, but I find it tedious when it doesn't serve a purpose. That's why I enjoy LitRPGs. If authors are going to fall back on extended action scenes to try and engage me, at least they'll actually accomplish something, even if it is just an incremental improvement.

2021-07-30 07:01:45 +0000 UTCOverall I really enjoyed the chapter and have been enjoying the change in pacing/content of volume 4 a lot. My only thought it that Salvos is making the same mistake two chapters in a row, which would be a little more forgivable if she hadn't made an effort to apologize for her mistake of flying straight into other peoples homes without warning last chapter. It's Salvos so her being scatterbrained and not thinking things through is fairly in character, but it would have been nice for her to learn from it IMO.

2021-07-30 05:58:00 +0000 UTCHonestly I prefer the comedy, character development, & plot over the action. Action is great for establishing power and for important fights, but otherwise the other 3 are more fun. Happy with the pacing.
