I think the only weak point of this chapter is the reasoning why the little turtles can't be protected and calling them an invasive specimen is a little bit fare fetched because they are home there tho the point can be made that the hatching is exceedingly rare and thus always disrupts the current ecosystem. Maybe better to simply say the elves believe deeply in nature having it's own way. Otherwise great chapter :)
