I agree, and this shows Melas (autors) atention to details and the quality of his work. And if this theory is true, than this would be excelent example of "chekhov's gun", in addition to, that if true, this demon could have been completely forgotten and it would not devalue the quality of the story. Making Simag be the Spear throwing demon would elevate it, though.
