Pausing Patreon for February...

SUMMARY AT THE END

Since November of 2020, I have posted at least one Salvos chapter every week, without fail. Even when I was still taking classes in university, even during my graduation, even when I moved countries, and even when my grandmother passed away, I tried my best to post at least once a week no matter the circumstance.

The point of what I'm saying here is: I'm burnt out.

I really love Salvos. I really do. But I need to take at least one month off from the series because I need some time to recover from writing Salvos, before I can get back into it with a fresh mind and write the story with the same passion I had for it three years ago. In a similar vein, I am also starting to get burnt out on Amelia, even if it's a much newer story, mostly because I am constantly balancing both my stories at the same time every single week. And that is why I will be pausing my Patreon for February, taking the entirety of February off to recover my creative mind.

To be clear, this doesn't mean either stories are going on hiatus. They will continue posting as per normal once March rolls around-- in fact, they will likely be posting at a faster rate than right now because I will be less burnt out on the stories.

I'll also still be posting Salvos and Amelia every week from now until the end of January as per normal. In fact, I'm hoping to wrap up Salvos book 12 before February starts, but who knows how feasible that is.

Now, you might be asking: what must you do in response to me pausing my patreon for February? The answer is absolutely nothing.

You don't need to do anything, since you will not be charged next month.

And honestly, I'd say this is a good deal, because I will actually still be posting next month on patreon, which means you get chapters for free. The only catch is that the chapters you will be getting are neither Salvos or Amelia chapters. Instead, you will be getting chapters for my brand new story, Kara.

Currently at around 30,000 words or 6 chapters, Kara is a nice little return to what I love doing the most, which is writing long chapters, since its average wordcount per chapter so far is about 5k words. It is also a nice palate-cleanser to writing Salvos and Amelia, and I believe writing only Kara over February with absolutely no schedule at all will certainly get me over this massive slump I've found myself in for both Salvos and Amelia.

(If you're interested in checking out Kara, you can read it here.)

Now I understand some of you will be upset over no Salvos or Amelia chapters over February, and I really wish it never had to come to this, but I feel like if I keep going at this trajectory of forcing myself to write Salvos and Amelia chapters every single week even when I don't feel like it or when I need a break, I will get so burnt out from the stories I may drop them entirely. And I do not want that to happen.

With this alternative of pausing my patreon next month, I believe I'll be able to recover and write them at a faster rate than before when March comes around, while outputting even higher quality chapters too.

In any case, thanks for reading as always!

TLDR:

- Salvos and Amelia will not be updated during the month of February due to burnout.

- Patreon will be paused for the month of February, meaning you will not be charged, so you don't need to do anything.

- Kara will be the only story that's updated in the month of February to help me exercise my creative brain. But it will have no schedule so I don't feel pressured to write.

- Salvos and Amelia chapters will resume in March. Salvos and Amelia chapters will continue posting for the rest of January too.

- Once again, you don't need to do anything at all.

Cool, but I stopped the membership to get the gift (cant get it while being a member) and now there are two months I cannot rejoin...

Take the time to care for yourself. You have been an absolute machine pumping out chapters for years. Take a rest and bring yourself back to where you need to be in a health place.

I’ve noticed both stories were in major decline. I assumed you hadn’t planned how they’d end and was just filling the stories with irrelevant content.
