IP Future Chapters

Hey everyone ~ 

Over the weekend someone made me aware of some comments circulating about the IP fanfic so I just wanted to address some things

First, the whole reason I decided to write this thing was because the band was going on tour, and rather than letting this place sit without any content for y'all for two months or subject you to me rambling by myself for 50 minutes straight multiple times, I thought writing a story like this might be more fun for you guys. It was meant to explore the album's storyline while also blending in worldbuilding from my own books, but also to poke fun at the fandom's perceptions of the people involved and incorporate some of the fanfic tropes we've seen on the podcast over the years and things like that. 

Perfectly fine (and expected) for not everyone to enjoy it; god knows I've gotten bad reviews from books since I started publishing, that's all part of putting creative work out in the world. 

Where negative comments get frustrating, though, is people pulling in their own theories about not only me but my relationships with personal friends, making up their own assumptions based on pretty much nothing, and then also trying to psychoanalyze me on top of it. 

It's annoying how often this seems to need to be brought up, but here it is again: none of you know us. You do not know what's up in our personal lives, nor do you know anything about our personal dynamics beyond what we present publicly to you, and you do not know what conversations any of us may or may not have had in our lives. You do not know us. 

It's truly really aggravating having people conjure up nonsense that they think is the gospel truth about people they've never had a real conversation with in their lives, but I suppose that is how fandoms tend to act. 

So I think probably we'll just stop it here, because I've got enough to worry about without adding people making up shit about my personal life into the mix. I did already write chapters 6 and 7, so maybe those will be posted, but at the moment I'm not really feeling it. 

Since tour is over, hopefully we'll be getting back to posting audio episodes anyway but I'm about to move into the place my girlfriend and I bought so it might be a little bit while I'm still settling in. But I'm looking forward to sitting back down with Awsten and talking some bullshit for you guys soon.
