September 2020 Wrap-Up
Added 2020-09-30 08:00:49 +0000 UTCWith September coming to an end, it is once again time to do a wrap-up of the last few weeks and the coming weeks and months.
As you hopefully have noticed, I announced the first ORCHESTRA DISCOVERY SESSION a few weeks ago which will take place in the first half of 2021. We also had a poll about the line-up and the result is pretty clear. We're going to record a woodwind quintet (1 Flute, 1 Oboe, 1 Clarinet, 1 Bassoon, 1 Horn)! To be honest this was also my favourite so it's great to see that many of you agree.
In the meantime, you can think a bit about things that we should try out with this ensemble. I have a few ideas of possible "experiments" (e.g. a few specific chord voicings) but I'm open for any ideas. I will create a dedicated post about that in the future but feel free to brainstorm ideas.
Having said that, I have to admit that I'm slightly underwhelmed with the general response to this announcement with not any significant peak in growth regarding new patrons or new pledges in spite of me posting about it several times on all my social outlets. The general reaction often was "great idea!" but not much happened after that. Also, only 18 people voted on the line-up poll to this date which is only 25% of patrons who would have been able to vote on it. As far as I know there is a majority of quite silent people present here or many people simply reading the posts in their emails but not accessing the actual web site to interact or comment etc. Don't get me wrong on this, I really appreciate your support and it's great to get some wonderful feedback on the material that I post here, I was just expecting to see more people "hungry" for an opportunity like this. But maybe they are?
As this whole Orchestra Discovery Session thing is a premiere, I'm really walking in the dark here about what to expect from it. So in order to get a slightly clearer image, there is a poll below. I would appreciate if you would cast your vote.
Other than that I'm still waiting on the final stereo mix of that short film score that I did in August but as soon as I get that, I will talk a bit more about it here as well as giving you an exclusive first look/listen.
There are some other projects going on as well that I can't really talk about yet but will be a great source for material for this Patreon page eventually.
Once again, thanks so much for supporting me here on Patreon, it really means a lot to me! I'm trying my best to make your investment into it worth it. As always, if you have any comments, wishes, critizism, please let me know so I can provide even better content.
And please don't forget to vote below.
Do you want to apply for the first Orchestra Discovery Session? If you are unsure or don't want to apply it would be really helpful if you could comment your reasons for it (or send them as a private message if you prefer that).
