Added 2022-02-08 23:14:07 +0000 UTCThis piece, too, is an older one now. It's a study of Joe Bowler's Man and Woman Asleep, which is an incredible exercise in the use of negative space. I love to do studies to get a different sense of proportion and form. I was in a period of using pretty bleak color options, and yellow was both my roommate at the time's favorite color, and a color I'd always shied from working from. I took this chance to work with what felt like wild, surreal colors, and to experiment with brushes that were so unlike what I had ever used. These are Sadie Lew's Sargent's Oils procreate brushes, and you can find them on Creative Market.
I no longer offer this piece as a physical print as I don't own the character of the man featured here, but I still love to look at this piece and think of the unique sort of playfulness I got to experience when creating it.
