On Injury, Technical Difficulties, and Lying on the Floor

Hello all – This post is a public one, so come on in. Sit down. Let's hang out for a little bit.

Patrons know, vaguely, that since October of this year, I've been dealing with private health issues. They started as mental, but have unfortunately ebbed into physical. Before I go any further: I'm okay! Without wading into too much detail, both for my sake and for yours, an imbalance of my medications led to a long, strung-out mental health episode, and because this necessitated me receiving care, my doctors followed up with what had been background concerns for me. Those issues have charged up to the foreground in not so fun ways. I've had to visit the clinic at least once, if not two or three times, each week since the beginning of November. I'm okay, but I'm tired.

At the end of September I also took on new full time work. It's a busy season there, so all across the board, on top of the usual holiday harrying, it's been hectic.

I've been chafing with the want to draw and create. I treated myself to a display tablet in October, but it was literal weeks of tripping and fumbling to get it to work with my setup. When I, at last, finally got everything working and agreeing with each other (displays are surprisingly finicky - who knew), the HDMI of the display gave out from too much plugging, unplugging ad nauseam. So back to her mother company she went, and I only received the replacement a few days ago. All the drama of testing what felt like a hundred different cables and ports wore me out, left me unmotivated, had me lying on the floor with my cat to stare at the ceiling.

Sometimes, you fall out of the season of creation and into the furrow on the roadside where cars and motivation get swallowed up. But all things are cyclical. Though this next week will be a busy one for me, I'm eager to take the weekend to rest and create again. I'll post a preview of the current page I'm working on for patrons after this.

Thank you all for your support, your understanding, your patience. I know this isn't a cut and dry exchange of money for art, but your continued support has really buoyed me when I've lapsed in my confidence in these past months.

It's been a long one. Let's all get some rest.
The floor's warm. Let's all take a moment to lie down and breathe. Just breathe.

Thank you so much ;^; That means a lot. I'm doing my best!

I hope you take any of time to rest, and do what you need to do to be better!
