May Agenda

Hello, my lovelies!

I hope you're all holding up okay. These are really tough times for all of us, and I hope you're staying safe and taking care of yourselves and your families. Now, more than ever, I want to stress that I'll absolutely understand if anyone needs to take a break from my Patreon, if income is becoming a worry for them. I'll be here when you get back, I promise!

Honestly, the worst part about this lockdown is that it simultaneously feels like everything is happening and also nothing is happening. Please be kind and forgiving to yourself right now.

So, I'm developing a pretty hefty backlog right now. I think it's been a little unhealthy for me to have tried to treat this lockdown as anything other than a full-on hiatus, honestly, but I know a lot of people are also really craving distraction right now, and I want to be a part of helping with that.

It's tough for me, and there's been no easy answer I can find. I love my job, I love working on commissions and perks, but I'm also feeling very burned out—as I imagine everyone is currently. I also know that a lot of people could really use some nice monster girl hypno, however. Including me.

So I'm going to be trying to aim for a slow, steady rhythm. I think I can steadily put out small amounts of content that will add up to a solid workflow: 500-3,000 words a day, without much pressure on the exact amount or the exact content.

This means that a lot of Patreon perks are being delayed right now—I owe a lot of people D&Dazes sessions and flashfics, to say nothing of the Bonus Pairing and Bad End and gamebook content you've all been so patiently waiting for. My commission queue has taken over my writing flow a little bit more than I'm used to, and I think I need to slow down a little bit and stop trying to get everything done at once. Slow and steady wins the race.

What To Expect

Because my sole focus right now is on getting the 500-3,000 words per day, I'm going to be a little less responsive over the next few weeks. My old tasks of bookkeeping, networking, and planning/scheduling/running D&Dazes sessions tend to mess with momentum, much as I enjoy them (well, maybe scheduling and bookkeeping are a pain). I'm going to be leaving a lot of them for later in the month, when I have more actual writing done and can focus more fully on other perks.

I'm also going to ease up on content. I have a couple commissions with approaching deadlines, but aside from those, I'm going to try to be a little unfocused with exactly what I write. I might work on an alt-end, a Bonus Pairing, a new chapter, or a standalone story/flashfic that nobody actually asked for. I need to be writing what I feel like writing. Oh, and yes, the Bonus Pairings and Bad Ends for February/March/April/May aren't on the docket right now. We have plenty to catch up to as-is. :P

I'm going to be watching the comments on this post, so if there's anything you need to get in touch with me with promptly, either reply here or email me at goblinschew(@)yahoo(dot)com. In particular, if there's a particular story you're excited for in the list below, or if you'd feel more comfortable being refunded for last month because a perk has been delayed for so long, feel free to reach out.

Stay safe and healthy! Wear masks and wash your hands! Remember, previous exposure doesn't make you immune, so be careful even if you already got sick!

Here are the stories, in no particular order, that I'm gonna be working between:

Any Other Name: A rose dryad ensnares a shy botanist for her garden.

Warm and Fuzzy: A fluttering mothgirl is drawn to a beautiful lantern witch.

Valentine's Vision: In a modern fantasy world, a shy landlord meets a pretty girl in pink who claims to be campaigning for someone called Commissioner Valentine—and who is strangely difficult to say no to.

Fleece Sprites of the Deep Evergreen, Ch. 2: The bounty hunter struggles to escape a fate of perpetual tickling and denial in the sheepgirl's fluffy embrace.

The Seven Kisses, Ch. 02: Leon encounters a teasing pair of spidergirls—and a particularly alluring maiden of blossoms.

Holstaur Takeover: In a modern fantasy world, an arrogant CEO encounters a maternal temptress who is determined to lure this sweet boy into her arms.

The Angel: A woman of otherworldly beauty encounters a would-be hypnotist on her travels.

Forked Tongues: In a non-canon adventure, Senya is lured into Hell and encounters Celeste.

Serpent's Charm, Ch. 04: In the conclusion, Limini and Emma confront Celeste.

Violets and Roses, Ch. 03: In a little bonus ending to the original story, the Brat Baroness seeks to bring her ranger boytoy fully to heel.

Maid in Heaven: A Ranger on a covert mission encounters a pair of elven maids who are all-too-eager to play.

Spiraling Deeper: A sequel to Spiraling Coils—newly corrupted by Celeste, Bobbi goes to pay Laca a little visit.

Warm Welcome Ch. 02 Bad End: What if Gretel never got away from the sorority witches?

Intrepid Pawns Bad End: What if nobody distracted Brist from ogling the Thriae through the keyhole?

Adventurer vs. Honeydew Dryad and Delightshade: the January Bonus Pairing—A cunning mage with a certain fixation with breasts encounters a pair of buxom fey. At first, he has the advantage... but will they unthinkingly stumble upon his trigger?

Comments

Im really excited to see the intrepid pawns bad end! Any story with the bee girls is lovely! Take the time you need, though! It's ok to take breaks!

I think that they just meant they’re worried about your backlog and don’t want you to get to stressed and thus reduce productivity. During this shit storm we all have problems so I hope you understand that we really love and support your work, you got this! (I hope that came off as positive and helpful rather than preachy and bitchy 😳)

Jaegermeister

Oh, I think I'm keeping my expectations quite low. Those chapters aren't what I'm expecting to complete anytime soon—they're just the items on the docket. :P

Lorelei

This all sounds pretty good, and your stories as always sound very promising, but i think it might be worth considering how much time you can realistically spend on writing, not just now but in general. These updates about unexpected difficulties that slow productivity are becoming a bit too common, and personally i would rather you set realistic goals instead of being overly optimistic and not quite being able to deliver. It would presumably put a lot less pressure on you, and it would lead to less disappointment on our end (or at least reduce our disappointment. I for one will only not be disappointed when can fill a mansion of libraries with your glorious stories, but time and money is of course anything but limitless)

I am tickled with anticipation

Brian Bell

That quite an exciting agenda you posted. Looking forward to reading those stories. Especially, Serpent Charm chapter 4! Just make you don't burn yourself out. Looking forward to hearing from you soon 😊.

Titan7

A lot of exciting things coming down the pipe and just like the holidays worth it the more patient you are.

Zanni

The fleece Sprites are my favorite so I'd love to see that story but don't let me put you in a box! Go with your heart!

Sothe Dain

I'm excited to see my commission on the list and with a name as well! :) Even if I knew it was on the agenda. It is still a happy thing.

The Darklord

Take your time - we're all really overstressed right now and burning yourself out is the last thing you need to do. That said, so many of those look fantastic and as for what I'm particularly interested in - you know I love my malesub stuff.

Jimmy the Cannon

Yes! I've started outlining it. Honestly, it's been so long that it's interesting to try to get back into the groove of the concept. "Shy botanist gets flustered and lured" made sense to me.

Lorelei

Is that my long-awaited commission that I spy on your To-Do list? :3 ^-^

Selestrilia

Honestly, even just ONE of these stories is going to be a gem, so I'm going to be delighted no matter what I see!

Carol J.

Oh, and yes, the fact that I have 15 stories that I want to work on has something to do with my need to slow down a little. Needless to say, this isn't all getting written this month.
