In which Limini gets another chance at turning the tables on Tess... but gets a little caught up in her own tentacle spell.

Sometimes, over-preparation doesn't pay off.

This was a fun commission, and I'm actually surprised how how a character like Limini comes across in these stories versus how I find myself thinking about her. She's going to be a lot more important than you might think, and if there's anything I've come to realize over the last month, it's that I'm really excited to get back to the "main storyline".

Until then, Limini will remain fodder for these demons, and I'm sure she doesn't mind. She'd need to have a mind intact to mind, after all. ;)

I'm trying something new now—moving away from a "queue" system and towards a "revolving door" system. Instead of telling myself, "I'm not allowed to work on Bonus Pairings or storylines or flashfics or Whatever I Want until the commissions are all done", I'm trying to let myself go back and forth more. That means that tomorrow I'm probably gonna spend some time on an Alrek/Larya story or the like. I miss those kids.

I love commissions, but I really want to be able to enjoy commissions again, and that means not letting them own my schedule. I just end up not writing at all and being overwhelmed with guilt.

To be clear, I'm okay!

No, really. I'm actually better than I've been in months. My new living situation has been a difficult transition, especially learning to balance homemaking with breadwinning, and lockdown and the election and the fires and having to drop out of college and losing access to therapy didn't make any of it easier. But I am blessed with a lot of patient readers and loyal friends and a supportive community. I'm working on the therapy thing, too. This is my favorite time of year, and that helps, too.

Oh, also, I'm working on editing an upcoming flashfic and another commissioned story (this one the second chapter of the Fleece Sprites of the Deep Evergreen trilogy). I'm not sure when they'll be posted, but probably within the next couple weeks!

Oh, and I really want to write a holly-days themed story this year. We'll see. Fingers crossed.
