Added 2019-02-08 21:00:50 +0000 UTCIf the goal is still active next month I'll go ahead and let people vote now, since this month didn't get a vote in order to celebrate Steven Universe's finale (and 5 year anniversary, apparently)
The catch is rather than five, it's voting between two because both had notable things happen recently and both serve as MAJOR inspirations for this comic.
Firstly there's Coraline, which just hit a 10 year anniversary. It also takes place in Oregon, and was made in a studio that's just 20 minutes away from me that I got to tour in high school. (the studio moved since then but it's still close by and I kind of hope to work for Laika some day as a concept artist or storyboard artist)
Secondly, there's Hilda, which just won a bunch of animation awards in the Annies, which it absolutely deserves. It's only very recently I discovered Hilda but it gave me that confidence that told me I was going in the right direction, and it's very thematically similar to My Magic Grandpa.
I will draw both, but the vote is on which I draw first for next month.
