🚨 Something Special for Tier 1 Supporters! 🚨

Hello Maker Tier!

First off, a massive thank you for sticking around while I’ve been neck-deep in code, developing SteinWipe Motion Control. For those who may not know, I’ve been meticulously refining every detail—tackling every community request—with a goal to push Bambu printers further than ever before with bleeding-edge G-code. This isn’t just trial and error; I’m bringing years of expertise to the table with my strong background in troubleshooting and machine programming dating back to 2005, when I first began my CNC apprenticeship. This deep experience is what’s driving these innovations and reach for perfection, but I know it’s also meant fewer models for Tier 1 Supporters lately, and I truly appreciate your patience.

But here’s the thing…

While working on SteinWipe Motion Control, I uncovered many major inefficiencies and errors in the stock Bambu Lab code for P1 and X1 printers (and I wouldn’t be surprised if the A1 series has them too). It has really felt like 10 different engineers have written the stock code but where not 3D printing enthusiasts. Beyond just fixing errors, there’s an incredible opportunity to optimize startup times, material usage, and overall machine efficiency over what the stock code has to offer—and I don’t want these benefits to be limited to just SteinWipe users.

So, let’s do something special. What if I create a streamlined version of SteinWipe Motion Control just for Tier 1 Maker patrons—one that brings all the performance benefits to those who aren’t using SteinWipe but still want their machine running at its absolute best?

🚀 What you can expect:
Faster print startups (cutting down wasted time)
Less filament waste (smarter purging and transitions)
Less purges on your print bed (better strategies to purge)
Faster Material Changes (smarter ways to use the available system)
Reduced chute clogging (keeping your AMS running smoothly)
Better print resuming (after a manual pause added)
Fully optimized routines to improve efficiency across the board

This project would start with P1 & X1 support—and if it’s well-received, I’d extend it to the A1 and A1 Mini as well.

🔔 Now, I need your input! Would you be interested in this? If the response is strong, I’ll make it happen! Drop a comment, vote, or let me know your thoughts.

Thank you all again for being part of this journey—your support means the world!

No problem! The Dev pack is designed to give you everything you need to get the most out of your machine with everything I have on the project. The only thing it likely will not include is A1 and A1 mini project files (when the time comes for the A1)

Christopher

Thank you David, I wont let you down! I've discovered some very interesting things and will be turning them in to some great solutions :)

Christopher

Upgraded to assist with this...Can't wait to see all you've got up your sleeves!

David Townsend

Nice, but you mentioned a separate project. So I feared (assumed) it would not be included in the SteinWipe project...

Rene de Wijs

The dev pack will hold all the keys :)

Christopher

The optimisation is the biggest reason why i backed the steinwipe project. So sure, if it can be better, YES! I'm not sure if its includes in SteinWipe developer, or it would be a different project. I guess I'll see.

Rene de Wijs

If I remember right, you're in the Discord. Ill see what I can put together this weekend and post it in the Innovator Dev chat. Not sure if you saw already, I posted up 2 parametric files in that chat for the grids. The heavier wall bin files are basically ready I just need to make some changes for the new design on the clip-in label geometry :)

Christopher

It was the first think I noticed when I moved from the A1 mini to a P1. Love the machine but the code is very rough to say the least. Im happy there has been so much support for this so this community can iron out a version everyone will be happy to use :) Thanks for the comment!

Christopher

The pre-print sequence on the P1 is terribly inefficient. Wastes so much time. For a company that sells itself on speed, they sure did a terrible job on the gcode. Good to see someone improving it.

Matthew Seabright

I’m 100% for this one but looking for the MD and HD bins if possible to squeeze in before going down the rabbit hole! 🙂 maybe a custom HD bin model with properties like the other provided for the tool one!

Yes, please!

The version I put on MakerWorld was really just to keep others from taking this community's project and calling it their own. Also, posting a sample of the wipe code will help in enforcing this with MakerWorld should we need to make any future claims. So far so good! And once the current post gets 100 prints we can apply for an exclusive design which further protects it but to answer your question fully - what is posted there is enough to get started with SteinWipe but nowhere near what the full version of SteinWipe has to offer. For the pause, I have provided a code already in the latest Dev update - it's better than stock and still some room for improvement. Ill continue refining that routine as feedback comes in (nobody has said anything as of yet about the provided routine)

Christopher

Seems fair. Yea I get what you mean. What's the version that's free on the stl sites of the wipe? I seen there was gcode shown in your videos on those sites too no? I would need to look again but never the less... A speed up to the start routine would be amazing. I also find the pause and resume function faulty in any of my bambu printers. If you watch and say it is half way through doing a line on the top layer. You pause then resume. It goes to the next line and doesn't finish the line it was doing before. It's really weird.

TechieNI

I've tried 800 with a 50mm purge at chute + a 50 x 50 x 3 prime...still causes layer adhesion issues at the layer it switches from support to main etc.

T4R

This would 100% work, but I have another automated way I think I could do it too. Ive made a note to add it to the feature list that way you can use the stock flush multiplier

Christopher

Thanks for showing your interest with your comment :)

Christopher

That is correct and why this project will be so special. T2 users already have access to all SteinWipe has to offer while T1 users have had to wait or purchase SteinWipe in the shop. So my thought, why not make a special case for T1 users for being such champs! It's not full SteinWipe, but it is very useful code that anyone with a Bambu printer will love to bits based on how SteinWipe Motion Control feedback has been going lately :)

Christopher

thats a easy fix turn the flushing volume up on petg to 600-800 on those prints dont forget the prime tower as well

Curtis Lafferty

Definitely interested in this!

Trenton Entwistle

Yes however I thought it was only for tier 2 users to get the gcode or ones who purchased. TBH, Tier 2 is still enough or even make a Tier 1.5 per se. If people want it. They will pay for it.

TechieNI

100%. Would you be able to look into the purge issue between PLA and petg when using one as support while the other as the base material. This causes great support removal but causes layer issues within that support area because the petg mixes with pla and the other way around as well. I have not found a good way to purge the filament well enough so it doesn't impact the main print's layer.
