Videos To Come

Where have I been?! I’m sorry I haven’t been active, but that’s about to change. I’ve had family visiting from out of town, and the house has been filled with kids. I did plenty of writing during that time, and now that everyone is home, I’ve begun animating again too. I have plans for three videos. I’d like to finish two of them in April, and the third (still mostly unwritten) in May. As far as Patreon, I’d like to strike a better balance here. I don’t want to be as inactive as I have been, but I also don’t want to inundate you either. How many updates/posts would you prefer?

First, the animation I’m working on now is tentatively titled “More Communist Than The Communists” and it is a response to the tired old “...but Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot” that constantly gets thrown in atheists’ faces. It’s a comedic God & Jeffery cartoon, and it shows how the theist position is actually the quintessential vision of those dictators. For instance:

Utopia = Heaven

Dictator who cannot be spoken against = God

Gulag where dissidents are sent = Hell

Atheists can oppose this vision, but can the classical theist? I realize that including the word “communist” in the title might be cause for contention, since many communists also don’t agree with what those dictators did, so let me know what you think about that. If you’d like, I’d be willing to share the script with you.

Second, I will be responding to an article by a man who is calling for Christians to rise up and fight against atheists. A lot of his arguments and complaints are pervasive, so I think it would be valuable to have a readily available response uploaded to a fairly large platform. It won’t be a cartoon. It will be a straight reading and response in my own words.

Third, I will be producing another episode of Power Corrupts, called “The Greater Insult”. The essential premise of it will be that the theist view of God is actually far more insulting than the atheist view. It is commonly held that the atheist is the offensive one, that the nonbeliever must walk on eggshells, and be considerate of the beliefs of others. That seems backwards to me. What if there is a god and that god is offended at the thought of people believing he desires worship and praise, demands it even, for eternity - like some petty narcissist? What if that god is disappointed in those who expected him to torture their enemies? What if the believer and the nonbeliever are made to face their creator, and it is the believer who must answer for his offensive beliefs?
