Wow, Vagrant Story is next? Fuckin' hell yeah. All the games I want covered are being done. I promise the FFX fans ill vote for it next. But Vagrant Story... dunno what else to say beyond "hell yeah!"
2022-02-06 22:14:40 +0000 UTCI would like for Xenosaga to win but I doubt it will anytime soon. But maybe a future series could be on some more light hearted games, like Grandia or Lunar? Almost every game covered so far has been pretty serious.

2022-02-05 00:03:23 +0000 UTCAll of these are great games, but in Nier Automata, the level of player subversion, meta-storytelling, videogame commentary and form-content symmetry is simple so beyond Any previous videogame it really deserves much more unraveling than just surface level plot/Theme unpacking done by the myriad standard essays
2022-01-29 11:38:40 +0000 UTChonestly Xeno 1 is so short I'd do Episode I & II as a single series [and Takahashi did the same when he remade them for the DS, tho sadly we still haven't seen an English release of that... maybe Casen can play it lol], and leave Episode III separately, since that one stands on its own much more
2022-01-28 22:48:26 +0000 UTCMy vote is for Xenosaga. But if you end up discussing Vagrant Story, may I suggest you go further with Yasumi Matsuno's career and consider playing and discussing the predecessor for Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together in the future, as well? Right up your guy's alley :) (Note I personally really enjoyed Nier Automata but I hope it doesn't win the vote - I found that its exploration of existentialism was very surface level and it was more pretentious than anything in terms of story. Won't be a problem for me if it wins but I'd much rather see you guys talk Xenosaga or Vagrant Story or Mass Effect 2 than N:A.... that game's themes and story really just did not vibe for me as any of those 3 lol)
2022-01-28 22:42:26 +0000 UTCWell at least Vagrant Story is winning and not Nier
2022-01-28 14:33:18 +0000 UTCYoure in for a treat.

2022-01-27 17:35:54 +0000 UTCI've never been able to play through Vagrant Story because of the steep learning curve, I'm hoping that doing here with your help I can finally play through the whole game and not just the beginning part.
2022-01-27 01:18:01 +0000 UTCCome one people! Just a few more votes for NieR Automata! Glory to Mankind!
2022-01-26 19:04:36 +0000 UTCIt is set a long time after FF Tactics, which is the same world as FFXII. It more clearly shares DNA with Tactics than XII.

2022-01-26 18:02:37 +0000 UTCI’ve never played Vagrant Story. Is it really a sequel to something?

2022-01-26 15:05:23 +0000 UTCWhy are you guys not voting for Xenosaga? Everyone has covered the other series before. JUST DO EET!
2022-01-26 02:38:07 +0000 UTCWould Xenosaga be just part 1? Or all 3 parts?
2022-01-25 21:07:55 +0000 UTCVagrant Story is currently taking the lead in this poll, and I would love a podcast on it, but I prefer NieR: Automata. I know it's been discussed to death on YouTube, but most videos don't go very deep into it, most of the time it's either a summary of the plot events or an overview of the themes. Hopefully it wins! Also I think covering Xenosaga I without the two sequels would be like covering Xenogears and stopping after a few episodes, there's so much build up that doesn't get its payoff until you play II & III. But doing all three games is such a massive undertaking that I doubt it's worth it.
2022-01-24 10:31:36 +0000 UTCYeah I agree. Near the end of the game myself and I've found it to be a cakewalk after getting a hang of the systems and progressing onto better weapons and armour. Bosses haven't been able to hurt me really at all and they go down in like a minute once I've done my preparation. Just get all the stuff the game gives you and I reckon you could even get by without any crafting.

2022-01-24 03:32:38 +0000 UTCI voted Vagrant Story. For those worried about getting into this game,I actually think that game is much more simple than FFT, the problem with Vagrant Story isn't complication, it's just a lack of good tutorial. If you follow a good tutorial, it will be easy to get through the game. You only have to worry about the 3 weapon types. You can pretty much ignore the enemy class except when you fight an elemental or spirit creatures, that's the only time where it really really matters. Also, you do have to spend some time to grasp the crafting, but once you grasp it, making weapons is strait forward and prevents a lot, lot lot of needless grinding. Do yourself a favor and only use 1 handed weapons tho.
