I can respect that's how you enjoy it. I'm in it for the games themselves and the short commentary right before and after games. I skip everything else. That's why getting spoiled truly ruins the experience like it would if I were watching an American sports game and knew how it ended. Not knowing the outcome for me is half the fun. Also I personally can avoid spoilers when they release 2-3 days after the live game, but much more than that is definitely impossible.

If you're at all plugged into the broodwar scene outside of just watching Dan and Nick cast ASL, it's so easy to get the results spoiled which completely ruins the entire ASL. Last season random broodwar channels on youtube i never even heard of would get recommended to me and the thumbnail would be like [player a] vs [player b] Ro4... when this channel was still in the round of 8! Instant spoilers on the Ro8 results via a thumbnail I had no control over seeing. Not to mention people discussing the results in random broodwar comment sections on twitch, youtube, and other broodwar places online. I don't mind being a few days behind but once you get a week behind(which they did with the old method), there's such a high chance to get spoiled. So please keep this new method unless the old method can happen without falling so far behind!

Dub vs Sub i think has proved to be an easy W for the Dub, especially with the newest translator. But I'm surprised that Dan's relocation has caused so many sudden audio issues. I thought that during S15 Dan was already relocated, and I dont recall any issues then? The switch to the latest method of trying to manage the video of Dan basically controlling the content in one take just seems overy rushed. There are times where the two of you are talking over the MC girl (dont know her name sorry) and the KR casters production which is pretty average. Honestly if I had to choose between faster VOD's and the pre-S16 level of production, I would choose pre-S16 with the dub.

2023-09-25 05:21:27 +0000 UTCTo be brutally honest: I have been supporting the english cast since its inception and I am losing hope in ever getting a satisfying product worth my money. The fact, that the minimum monthly tier is $5 makes this an even harder bargain. ASL happens twice a year with plenty of time between and you have been doing this for well over two years now. I get that due to Dan moving things got more difficult but I still don't see a single reason why we are getting you trying to fix basic issues like syncing and video of yourself well into the middle of the tournament. I know it is hard for you to get things uploaded onto the Afreeca channel and that this is part of the problem, but there are so many issues that happen entirely on your side. This is stuff that needs to be figured out, tested and approved BEFORE the season starts. Not during a season resulting in a experimental product of oversteering every other episode. This has also plagued the Patreon cast since the beginning. If you are wondering if something works or not, guess what, THAT'S WHAT PATREON IS VERY GOOD AT. Try something out between seasons and ask us for feedback. You two are the reason me and many friends even watch Broodwar and ASL in particular and I am very thankful for that. But honestly when the Patreon started I expected this to be some kind of serious job for you. I even dreamt of getting actual real content like you talking about players careers, a current meta breakdown or introductions into new maps. I really enjoy the Highlight clips on Nicks channel, but for me those should be the bare minimum, if you are asking $5 a month. I appreciate your effort in getting things out faster and listening to feedback about dubs vs subs or about who is doing the dubbing. But I also really think it would be your responsibility to get things like your setup sorted out before you start casting.
