Yea, apparently the convenience stores buy up "neighborhoods" to eliminate competition. Crazy. -Eric

When we were there, we found an small intersection (probably not more than 30 feet across on a side) that had a Family Mart on one corner, another Family Mart on the opposite corner, and a third Family Mart easily visible, just a couple hundred feet down the road. It's crazy that they're competing with themselves.

Hah, I never heard about those Starbucks. I always just thought that was a joke! -Eric

I saw this a few times in Thailand too! Although, it was 7-Eleven v. FamilyMart (7-Eleven always won). Reminds me of the story I heard about the Dueling Starbucks in Dallas, right across the street from one another. I also saw a Thorton's gas station in Louisville, KY like that as well.
