We hadn't been dating that long, and I was still working out how to make kissing him work. The fangs didn't usually get in the way but they were quite a bit longer than normal - and they were sharper than normal teeth.

Every now and then, if the kiss was a little too intense, I'd come close to cutting myself on them. Which was kind of weird to say - that I nearly cut myself on my boyfriend's teeth. But such was life with Vampires.

In any case, it was bound to happen that at some point it wouldn't be 'nearly.'

The first time it did, I'll admit that we had gotten a little to into the kiss. Uh...well...mostly I had. Ahem.

And then...

I felt pain and tasted blood.

I think Elliot did as well because he pulled away and looked down at with me brief surprise. He immediately noticed the cut.

Before I could say anything, he leaned closer again, running his tongue over the little nick in my lip. The pain evaporated instantly as he very gently sucked on it. That...made my heart pound harder than the kiss itself had. Then he pressed his mouth to mine again, making a soft noise at the back of his throat. I gripped his collar and pulled him closer, this time being a little more careful as I kissed him.

The blood drinking thing was still a little weird but...sometimes...I guess it was okay.
