Neo was originally going to be voiced, and was written specifically for Sarah Silverman, but when they couldn't get her, the CRWBY decided to make her mute.

Torchwick is Lampwick, the boy who convinces Pinocchio to go to Pleasure Island, drink, and smoke and who ultimately turns into a jackass. Neopolitan is sort of the anti-Jiminy Cricket; she carries around an umbrella and wears clothing of a similar cut and style to Jiminy's shoes and tailed waitcoat but unlike Jiminy Cricket she more of a 'lack of a conscience' and unlike Jiminy, who is often verbose (see Jiminy's attempt to explain right from wrong) Neo doesn't speak at all.
