Physics Girl Office - Shut Down

This month, the Physics Girl office was officially closed down. Here are some images from not only it's original beautiful setup, but also after it's been packed up and moved.

Dianna loved the office, and we loved doing the "explain to my editor" series in the smaller part. It was really sad to move it all out. We'll see what the future holds. I took the fun photos the day before the movers came.

As always, thanks for your support everyone.

Let us say that Diana will move to a new office and will do a new "explain to my editor" series or something else. She has a long road ahead, we will be here to greet her again.

Bart de Boisblanc

This is a setback, but she will be back stronger than ever.

courtneywow

Oh I hope she'll be ok soon. Just joined the Patreon to help out a bit. Either way I wish her all best. Hope to see her back when she recovers. ❤️

Jason Deveau

This feels like the curtain closing on one of the best and most energetic creators out there! I have a natural affinity to science content creators for teaching me new stuff! but Physics Girl, was a genuine cut above the rest! S

sanchayan_ghosh

Happy belated birthday Diana. I enjoyed all your videos but esp. the stay at home playlist. You looked like you were having so much fun. Sending zen hugs for your recovery. Take the time to heal, we will wait.

Denise Korsman

The photos are heartbreaking to see, but I believe that the office will be back, when Dianna has had time to heal. I can't wait :)

Jean-Philippe Suter

I really miss your wonderfully joy-filled explanations about and explorations into the world of physics. Here is an Wired article about Covid and monocytes that may be relevant or related to how your body responded/reacted to Covid infection: https://www.wired.com/story/long-covid-breathlessness-monocytes-symptoms/

isit 1984: I would say that the strongest people I have seen are not filled with rage. The strongest people are the ones who face the world head-on, like Dianna and Kyle. Feeling anger that things of this world are not the best is normal. We live in a fallen world. The evidence of my own past mistakes are easy to spot when you see me. But that doesn't or shouldn't make me feel rage over the world being bad. I know that no matter how bad things get, they can never be as bad as they were when I didn't know the Lord. That was the lowest moment of my life. I felt rage at myself then, now I experience regret over my decisions, but every day has been a gift (even the really, really, really hard days, the days I don't like remembering, the days I never want to repeat). So hope. Live in hope. I don't think you have a problem with that Dianna + Kyle. Don't create a false hope. I know that rage is a false hope. And if you're feeling really, super down. Read the whole book of Job. Read it then read it again. Job made me angry, and then it helped me avoid being depressed. I don't know why.

Jacob Elliot Cassagnol

We miss you Dianna, looking forward to seeing you coming back to us soon!

Jesse Wallace

I'm Chinese, so, May the Chi be with you!

Dalbunosky

This is the May

Suzanne Strickland

Yes, May the Fourth be with her!

Mariana Arzuaga

Is that today? I hope she is having a good restful day.

Suzanne Strickland

Happy birthday, Dianna! 34 candles today! 🎂 I hope my good wishes reach you ❤💙

Mariana Arzuaga

Sad day for youtube and really hope she recovers, one of the best youtubers out there. Some other advice: Try mixing food in a mixer with a lot of fruit and stuff, it might give here the C-Vitamin and calories she needs to fight through this. Also note that light chemo therapy have had a positive effect on covid so could be a way forward if you can afford it.

Robert

Hoping for the best for Diana. Been watching the channel for years.

Naeem Douglas

Diana, you will bounce back. We're here for you with our thoughts and prayers. Thanks to your team as well. Lotsa love to all from Toronto!

Douglas Mark

So sad. Praying for everyone involved 🫶🏼

Richard Pearce

I just love Dianna and hope she heals soon and completely

Riccardo Conturbia

Praying for the Dianna to turn the corner soon and has a full recovery. She had such energy and was fun to watch and learn from. Hoping she can get back to educating and entertaining us soon.

Phil Krausz

Only a temporary respite I'm sure. Stay strong, get healthy. We'll wait.

Tim Schuh

Think outside the box, Diana! Do your own research. Don't fixate on "COVID" and MDs.

Lawrence Tate

Don ‘t ever give up. Rise up and be better than ever. We’re here for you❤️❤️❤️

Douglas Mark

Praying for you Kyle and Diana. Very glad you had a few good days. Don't give up, keep fighting!

Jack PRick

How very, very sad. May she recover and make a fascinating video about her recovery.

Paul Adams

It will get better because it has to. Much love to Dianna.

Cathy Bayne

I only discovered Dianna's (Physics Girl) videos just before she fell ill. She is very personable and makes science easy to understand (even for this old guy). What a terrible thing to happen to such a great person. I know that you are going to beat this. I wish you and your family well. Stay strong!

John Heffle

I wish her a recovery and good luck for whatever she chooses in the future. A lot of people are pulling for her.

Paul B. Hogue

This hurts my heart. Please take care of yourself. We will all be here then you are ready. ❤️ much love

Candice Robinson

Bummer. I see 2.0 in the future when your feeling better! Soon I hope, you are missed!

Brett

My biggest hugs for everyone. Stay positive and strong and remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint!

Kith

So sad to loose the Physics Girl Patreon Office. Dianna get better soon as you’re IMPORTANT to a lot of people. 💕☀️

Jean

I've watched Dianna's videos for some time, but I only just saw the most recent video update on YouTube -- I can't begin to describe how much my heart hurts for you guys. I can't afford much, but I hope my little patreon subscription is a little bit helpful. <3 Sending all my love.

k h

Let Dianna know that one of her random fans just dropped by to give her a hug. 🤗

SeattleDan

I wish there was a way I could hug everybody.

Clay

The reason this works so well is because all SGB does is allow your body to do a “soft reset” of your autoimmune system, and use the processes that your body already does to heal itself. I had 1 injection of an anesthetic (I’m pretty sure it was Lidocaine, I could be wrong) into the Stellate Ganglion, which is at the bottom of the right side of the neck, and within 1-2 minutes, all of my symptoms were gone. Long Covid simply screws up your brains “wiring”, and SGB gives it a chance to naturally rewire itself. That’s why Long Covid has been so difficult to determine any potential causes, because the wide range of symptoms are bizarre, and the same symptoms rarely look exactly the same between two people. Most of the symptoms that aren’t constant have triggers, even if they aren’t obvious. The trigger of a symptom my family and I called a “stress response” (a temporary, bizarre state of Catatonia and dystonia that I could break out of if someone else was there to “ground” me) was a fast drop in blood pressure. When the stress response triggered, my blood pressure would spike back up, and then return to normal after the spike. The doctor that gave me SGB also had me come in for NAD+ infusions every week, then 2 weeks after about a month, then gradually less often. Now I go in every 3-4 months. Look up what NAD+ is, and it will make a lot of sense why he does that for me. It helps to make sure the rewiring is able to happen as effectively as possible, and to lower the likelihood that a trigger for Long Covid (initial infection, activation of a dormant infection, etc) screws up the wiring again. That’s happened to me once, but another SGB worked as well as the 1st time.

Griffin Drucker

Hey Physics Girl, These images tell me that when you feel better and create Physics Girls - The Redux, I think it will be better than ever. Till then I am your ardent but very, very patient supporter on Patreon.

Richard Morton

There is just no words for this. It's sad, it's infuriating. Saying that everything she had built over the past decade, the people that work with her, all of it gone in a less than a single year, and only because of an health issue. And it's not because she had unhealthy behavior (as far as I know), it is just bad luck. She is facing extreme fatigue, and once she will recover how much energy is she gonna have to rebuild all of it! She is one of the best in my humble opinion, she can explain complex scientific topic in which my 15 yo boys was captivating. I wish I could help more!

André Jacques

Wishing her a very fast recovery and to open an even better and bigger office! Stay positive!

Kiril Nikolov

I am with you.

Trang Nguyen

Our family is praying for Dianna and all of the Physics Girl team. So glad she has such loving support. Looking for miracles ahead.

Jim Teague

It fill my heart with grieve and brings tears to my eyes. This is so sad. It tells me it is not going well with DIanna. Wish you people all the strength to keep going.

Paul Sinnema

It must have been a lot of work, and with heavy hearts. But it's only a break. Now this will not be a worry (or expense) on your minds. This is part of taking care of your loved one too. Just rest and keep getting better, dear Physics Girl. Even 1% at a time is enough! <3

Lokinta

Hang in there, homie.

zak t

Although it breaks my heart to see these pictures - all of it can be rebuilt - better and stronger - with time - God willing. I know what you are going through - I have been through these exact same moments many times in my life... Everything will be ok in the end - if it is not ok - then it is not the end. Have faith Diana. You are loved and cared for - these are the very building blocks of recovery. Rest well - stay strong.

NewQLar

I'm so sorry.

John Gnassi & Deb Sutliff

Thank you Zak. I’m a long hauler and means a lot.

Centralperk

So sad. I sometimes get upset by change. The paracetamol that I take to numb that pain is to remind myself that time is a dimension just like, length, width and depth. Given enough time, surroundings change, even if I stay put, just as surroundings change if I walk 10 miles N, E, S or West, I went 10 miles into the Earth, or 10 miles up into Space. The illusion is that I can stop things from changing if I stay still. For me, the only questions are: (1) Do I want to stand still and see things change or move and see things change? (2) Does it matter if things are going to change no matter what I do? I hope this helps. Stay strong.

Andrew Henderson

Just focus on getting better. One day physics girl will ride again.

John

I love the pictures even if they make me feel sad.

Martin Rioux

So sorry to hear.

Tim Donnelly

I can't say that I've been a long time viewer of the channel. I watched some more popular videos that Youtube recommended to me, but in the vastness of YouTube, your channel slipped away from me. That didn't change the fact that the moment I heard about your bad situation I joined this Patreon and cried for 10 minutes straight. I can't even explain what I feel and why I feel this way, but it's heart wrenching to see such a happy and caring person suffer for no fault of their own. Maybe it's because I've been in bad situations and I know how helpless you may feel. Maybe it's because it just plain sucks to hear good people being down. I felt similar way when Simone uncovered that she has a brain tumor. It may not be in the next week, month or a year, but I'm absolutely sure that you'll fight through this and build everything back up. In the meantime, there are MANY people that will continue supporting everything you do. All the best to you Dianna and Kyle.

Marcin Bator

My mom’s psychologist (who introduced me to that Doctor) had Long Covid since the middle of February 2020. That was before most people here (USA) knew Covid existed at all. I had lost hope at around 6 or 7 months in, and I got the SGB after 7 or 8. I can’t even imagine the agony of 2 1/2 years, in her case. SGB has been picking up a lot of traction in the medical field, because it’s also very effective in many patients with PTSD and OCD. Hopefully you can give it a shot in the near future

Griffin Drucker

It'll be back up in no time, and twice as good as before, mark my words! :)

Kieran Le Cam

But "exit" backwards it "tixe", and the "t" in "tixe" flipped vertically is an "f" and that spells "fixe"! Maybe we shouldn't follow the SIGNS too much... Just make our wishes come true. :)

Kieran Le Cam

you will came out stronger and enjoy the process again... well be waiting for you....

Heartbreaking

Kerry Allan

Was taken aback at how hard this post hit me in PhysicsGirl's honor. Her amazingly energetic, and genuinely warm videos were always the highlight of the days I discovered, and anxiously, moving any other obligations aside, viewed them with utter fascination and joy. THIS MUST BE TEMPORARY PhysicsGirl! Your phenomenal brilliance will regain it's place in history, sooner than later hero! *SPECIAL PROPS to her heroic husband, family, and ALL those #HEROESamongstUS that have offered their undying love and time in her care. (I'm a family caregiver too; SNIFF.) CANNOT WAIT for your profound recovery PhysicsGirl!

The Exit sign reflected in the Youtube award is a little unnerving. Wishing you all the stength and health for a fast recovery Dianna!

Niels van den Boogaard

it feels discordant to click a little heart-love symbol for something so sad. i hope Dianna can pull out of this stretch of crappy luck soon. ergs of strength and watts of will to both of you.

I assume you shut this down to save on rent while Diana transitions to this new reality?

Kiki

It feels like a setback, but it's so that you can jump into something even bigger. We all believe in you Dianna. All this suck is going to turn into something absolutely incredible.

Wendy Litteral

How heartbreaking for you to close the office; very sad. I pray Dianna gets well enough to need a new office and we can see new pictures of it being fitted out.

I don't see an end, I see a shift, a change, and hopefully soon a new beginning.

pho3nixmatt

This is very sad.

Andy Callaway

Well, that sucks. I know its a small consolation but we’re all here with you, wishing you the brightest future.

Mike Pezaro

Some day soon, you will find a new space. A new opportunity, where you can share your love of science and learning. It will not be the same, but it will be a space you can share and fall in love with all over again. Remember- It's only an end if you want it to be.

Cell113

Sorry about this. Hopefully she will be back before long.

Andries Herholdt

Such a shame. ☹️

Richard Klos

My favourite guest was Rodney Mullen.

CUCKOO

I'm feeling as gutted as these images. We can wait as long as she needs, even if that's forever.

Kevin Darling

Around the time my daughter developed POTS she had a bad virus COVID type perhaps. This was about a decade ago.It seems scientifically interesting that long COVID is now associated with much higher incidence of POTS. The light at the end of this story is that my daughter is living with POTS. Get well soon our dearest Diana. You've taught us, inspired us, and help us do what we do best explore frontiers.

Jay Kean

I can't wait for you ask for a special donation to reopen that office. I'm praying for that day. Dianna has meant so much to my two granddaughters.

Gregory Gentile

Ironically, I just subscribed via Patreon just as Dianna was taken ill. But I regard it as a privilege to maintain my small contribution in return for all the pleasure this wonderful girl has given me over the years,

Hugo Miller

Aww, it was so beautiful. But hey, life is so wonderful, because you can always start again, make again and take another go when situations change. Nothing is lost as long as there is life. <3 Be patient, be merciful, not only for people around you, but remember to be merciful for yourself. I can't even imagine how hard this is for you all.

Sonja Turkia

Patiently waiting the return of "Happy Physicsing". My grand daughter and I often watch together. Miss you and your team who deliver great science that I even can understand!

CTOCSE8

Maybe reach out to some previous guests on the show to see if they would do a guest episode to help keep the channel active. It would be like a guest Collab that they could publish on their own channels, drawing followers from both sides.

😢

Ben Dean

I am so sorry Dianna. When you get back on your feet, I am sure you will rebuild and find an even cooler office. <3

Erich Ryan Sutherby

I joined as a patreon recently also. Wish I would have done it sooner. My 2 children and I love watching your videos. Hope Dianna is able to pull through sooner rather than later. We will also be praying for not only Dianna but for all of you who are going through this with her. May God bless you all and give you strength and perseverance to make it through this difficult time.

Chris Allan

Physics Girl is one of my favorite YouTube channels. Diana's love and intensity for her interests and the wonderful way she presents the material along with her enthusiasm is what captures my attention. I too, became a Patreon when I learned of her condition to help in a small way. I also pray daily for her and all ME/CFS folks.

Jeff Pope

I understand the reasons for doing this, but it feels so sad to see it happen. I truly hope this will be a temporary situation. Sending my best wishes!

John DeJarnatt

I specifically joined your patreon network to provide what support I can. This does make me sad. When Dianna is feeling better, have her start working on improving very slowly. I hope research moves forward to help people recover. Dianna is not the only person I know with significant long covid. I also have training as a Scientist with a background in Physics and Mathematics.

Robin M Pettit

Hear, hear! Kyle, I'm sure you're the kind of guy that simply thinks, "This is my wife whom I love! Of course I'm going to support her!" But not every husband (or wife) makes that level of commitment. I'd just like to commend and thank you! 👍👍 Please know that I and many others continue to pray for Dianna, you, and your future together! 💖

Phil Stubblefield

Once again getting on my soap box to talk about my experience as a husband of a long hauler: this 'shutting down' of operations & life is painfully familiar to me, but it didn't last. Don't ever forget that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, even if you can't see it.

zak t

Wishing you all the best and an end to this nightmare. Please know that you will always have my gratitude for the gift of your work, which helped me to instill a love and appreciation of Science in both my (now) teenage son and “tween-age” niece. You are a uniquely remarkable and gifted teacher…and overall entity of Light and Goodness. You make a difference, Dianna.

Peter Andrew Grekin

... and I know you are all very busy as well.... just trying to help in my very small way...

TheJaded

To all the others that are helping Kyle and Dianna... First THANK YOU ALL as well for help in all the ways that you do. I was not a patreon until just a few minutes ago. I was going to donate via GoFundMe but there;s not been an update on there for more than a month. My guess is GoFundMe takes a smaller cut of what is given... but I could be wrong. Might I suggest, that updates be posted on there as well... even if it is more of the same roller coster. (I'm going to donate on GoFundMe as well, but I wanted to know more recent news.

TheJaded

To Kyle. What a ROCK! Dianna chose wisely! I know it is tough... THANK YOU for taking care of our heroine!!!!

TheJaded

To Dianna, I miss you and your videos... always so positive and upbeat. Such a good role model for other Women / "Girls" interested in science... I hope this non-newtonian fluid you're stuck in (aka Long Covid) settles down VERY soon, so you can get on solid footing.

TheJaded

❤️💔❤️

Tom Dupuy

The office can (and will) be replaced/rebuilt. Spend your energy getting better.

CheyenneWills

I’m so so sorry. Please let her know Solve ME just had Advocacy Week in the US, meeting with Senators and Reps to pass the CARE for Long Covid Act. I think we had some good traction. Fans of Dianna’s - PLEASE call and email your congresspeople to support the bill. It has bipartisan support!

Centralperk

I’m sure this is harder on all of you but this is heartbreaking to me.

Bradley B

Can't wait to see what the next office looks like! No rush; we'll be waiting.

Robert MacCoun

I’m 3yrs in. Good to hear SGB worked for you.

Centralperk

The universe loves you and we are ALL sending love your way!

Tad Sherrill

This is sad, but the day WILL come when Dianna and crew are in another office they love just as much if not more!!!

Joseph Murphy

This really sad. I hope Dianna gets well soon, and we'll be here along the way

Suzukaze

The damage this virus still has the potential to cause makes me especially sensitive to people who still want/need to be cautious. I lost my best friend to it towards the end of the worst time. It has brought a lot of misery.

LoyalBeagle38b

I'm looking at this as a temporary thing. After Dianna gets better and has the energy to dive back in we'll all be waiting for her new video essays and entertaining content to show up. Watching Physics Girl 2.0 emerge will be a wonderful thing to see !! Get better Dianna and don't lose hope. We're out out here waiting for you to get back on your feet, sending good thoughts and positive energy your way. Lots of love from our house to yours ! :)

Rob Tai

The photo with the Schrodinger's cat stuffy is poignant for me. I bought one for my wife just before Dianna fell ill. She loves it. Anyway, hopes and thoughts for a full recovery of both her health and channel. Don't worry, we'll be waiting here for her. ❤

Rick Bamford

We all miss your entertaining physics presentations, but that's irrelevant. We want you to get well! That's what matters.

dino@deanlm.com

I feel like I'm dying a little inside, I hope Dianna is healing though if only a little 💜

Douglas Boyle

Just get well soon. You have the universe.

Tianze Li

Sad indeed, but the results of the great work done there are still around to entertain and educate. Along with hope that there will be more to come, one day...

thee Dark Overlord (aka doug)

Aww, this is sad. I hope Diana can get all this back someday.

Rich

For someone with so much energy, positive energy, this is truly heartbreaking. 😢

AndrewInCali

A sad day indeed. But, understandably necessary.

Suzanne Strickland

My best guess is that with Dianna being as sick as she is and with the road to recovery looking like it's going to be very long, it doesn't make sense to continue paying monthly rent for an office space that's not going to get used any time soon. Better to conserve those funds, especially now when I'm sure medical bills are a concern.

Kai Christensen

I found this paper that seems to corroborate your anecdote: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34922127/ I'm glad you're feeling better now!

Kai Christensen

Keep fighting… most importantly, keep smiling… all of you🇦🇺❤️🇦🇺

Seth Lowe

Praying for you every day.🙏🏽✝️💕

Katey

I think we're all more worried about her getting better. Sending good vibes your way

Elizabeth Calvert

Oof. I can’t imagine how difficult this was. Hopefully someday y’all will have another office/studio that’s even better. We will always be here to support y’all. Hugs to all of y’all. ♥️♥️

SomeGirl EH

We're a patient bunch. Get well.

Richard Spruill

Why?

Roger Adams

I had Long Covid through most of 2022, but I was lucky enough to be one of the first patients to have a treatment known as a Stellate Ganglion Block performed, to see if it helps with Long Covid. It worked so well, I could only describe it as a miracle. I sent a private message, I want to provide the contact info of the doctor I saw, and answer any and all questions Diana/anyone close to Diana may have! I would be willing to verify my identity in any way that is necessary, I know it is extremely difficult to believe that this treatment worked. I had so many potential treatments that turned out to be massive disappointments, so I was very hesitant too! I know the hell Diana is going through all too well, it is more isolating than anything else I have ever experienced, even though I had my family and friends all helping me and taking care of me however they possibly could. I don’t want anyone else to go through it, so I want to help, one person at a time.

Griffin Drucker

Wishing you a full recovery, Diana, and looking forward to seeing you and your team in fabulous new offices when you're ready. Your audience is patiently waiting for you.

Sad to see this gone. Praying for recovery. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Thanks so much for the great content. This is just for now and looking forward to the future. Ever hoping for a smooth recovery.

Offices come and go. It's so sad, but it had to go eventually. Hopefully it's temporary in the long view

Trace Dominguez

Really heartbreaking - but I know that when she recovers the next spot will be even better!

Hogtown Pens

There's lots of offices out there. Focus on recovering first, we'll be there to help build new offices. Prayers are going up for you 🙏

There is so much hope and wonder in these carefully chosen items. We know you have that fire and creativity within. Nothing can take that away from you, even when it has to be just a quiet ember (for now). Holding you in our hearts. ~ Kim and Michael

Socratica Studios

This is so sad. Hoping that things improve for Dianna soon.

Michael Sperry

Praying always for Dianna, Kyle, and the entire Physics Girl team.

Wish everyone the best.

GK49245

So sorry to see. Praying Dianna gets better soon!

Mel Beckman

Been thinking about you two (Diana + your partner) on the regular lately sending y'all lots of good vibes but also wishing there was a quickly discovered antidote to this complicated medical situation. The world can't keep going on without brilliant and passionate minds [and hearts] like Diana's...it's just not fair. :( Also sending caretaker strong vibes to their partner--I'm currently sharing caretaking responsibilities with my mother and aunts for my grandmother and it wipes us out mentally and physically whenever we have back-to-back days/nights. It's a hard job to do and you also deserve a mental and physical break every once in awhile (keep up with the self love so we can truly care for our loved ones in need).

Boone_girl

This makes me sad in a way that I lack the words to convey. Dianna is an amazing human and her content pure and honest excellence. And she is able to share learning in a ways that offers wonder, passion, joy and possibility. She is an example of what we should all be striving towards. And yet the helplessness that I know we all feel is shattering. Thoughts, prayers, whatever you believe in, the hearts and hopes of many people are wishing for her recovery.

Steve Bowen

Such a fun space with so many hidden treasures! We'll remember the fun times and look forward to more in the future! God bless you all!

MPotter

God Bless. Live for today and heal to live another day. 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽

Liz Kauai

Sad times but with positivity and dedication, you will get through this. Healing energy heading your way.

Dr Andy Hill

While it may be easy to be sad about this, remember you can't build something bigger and better until you take down what's there. I'm choosing to see this as the start of the next step. All the best.

SarcasmoRex

Something about seeing the subscriber plaque hit me in the gut knowing it was taken down. Stay strong guys.

Darren Demis

This breaks my heart. I hope you all have the thriving future you deserve 💙

Evette's Niche

So sorry to see this. Hoping for the best as she moves forward.

It’s hard to step away from something you have been passionate about, I know, from mountaineer to wheelchair, but life goes on and you find unexpected moments of fulfilment. I’m not saying that it isn’t bloody hard sometimes, but I hear birdsong and have time to think and write. And to admire people like Diane, who light up the world, and always will.

You are in our constant thoughts. Peace. Out.

Hope they find a treatment to help her bounce back. Her videos were a source of joy (and learning) for the whole family. Hugs from the unicorn-pillow-twins-family at the SAN airport in pre-pandemic times!

How is she this week? Hoping for some improvement.

I can't get myself to like this post. Get well soon and get a bigger and better office. That one was too small for your personality.

Anthony Scira

I agree, really heartbreaking. Thinking of you guys every day, and hoping to see some "recovery updates" before too much longer. Sending you much love and support.
