A quick poll about cloud service
Added 2019-07-06 16:26:50 +0000 UTCAre you having issues downloading from Mega?
Hey everyone!
In the past couple of weeks I received a few complaints about the hosting service on Mega. I wanted to start this poll to ask about your experience with it. Some people say they are limited when downloading and some are not, please let me know about your situation.
I'm using Mega because it's (or was) one of the best services out there at a reasonable price. It offers high speeds and huge cloud storage which I need since every update is over 2GB and growing with each new version. The storage I have there is so large that it allows me to store and not delete any of the older versions in case there is a need for them. The security they offer is also great as well as client services and communication. They also have a good download speed.
However, if you are having problems with it, I'll start looking for alternatives, maybe even permanent ones. So for now I'm asking you this question to get a clearer view of what's going on.
Please vote, thank you!

There is a cap. It’s likely the 5Gb mentioned. I’ve never paid attention. I hit the cap regularly when downloading more than one game at the same time. It then pauses for four hours. There’s a count down that says ~upgrade now to continue your download or wait x time for your free download. The ‘x’ is a timer counting down. I play another game or do something else; when I come back and it says 0 time, I continue. It’s not an issue, as a free service it’s great. Don’t fail them for putting a limit-and it’s a generous one that’s easy to work with.

2019-07-07 13:21:10 +0000 UTCthere does seem to be a situation where it can tell you that you have hit your browser download limit if you are downloading to much from them at one time, or a file that is too large (not sure if anyone has any files that are individually too large, just saying that it is based off of a certain size limit) this can be worked around by one of two routes, either ensuring that you only download a file at a time and ensure that no file is too large, (would have to go back and retest to see exact limit) or simply sign up for a free account and then use the desktop app to download which not only removes that cap, but also can greatly increase your download speed

2019-07-07 11:44:20 +0000 UTCTo the best of my knowledge, download limits on MEGA apply to the account being downloaded from. With a paid account (which it seems he has), he shouldn't run into download limits at all.

2019-07-06 19:04:05 +0000 UTCI think everyone is happy maybe you could use Cloud and MEGA. Many developers I support do that already and use both for the updates for the download.

2019-07-06 18:21:57 +0000 UTCI have a paid subscription so that i can keep copies of all the games i support in the cloud. If you want a free service, you have to be prepared to put up with the download limits and limits on the number/size of files you can keep in the cloud.

2019-07-06 17:21:46 +0000 UTCIt's the best *free* download service I've used for games. It has a limit but I've never had a problem where a single game wouldn't download. If I use up my limit, it's smart enough to remember where the download left off and then continues when enough time has passed. There was some update to the web site recently, and I was briefly confused. But I was still able to download everything I was interested in downloading.

2019-07-06 17:16:02 +0000 UTCAs Mega seems to be file host provider most used on here I bought a membership as I pledge to several patreons.
