Some of you might remember that a couple of years ago (roughly) there was a change to Tier rewards, where instead of Tier 2 receiving the latest Episodes first and then Tier 1 receiving them two weeks later, Tier 1 would receive the newest Episode on release, at the same time as other higher Tiers. This change was highly popular as it allowed Patrons to save money and simply change from Tier 2 to Tier 1 without losing anything. This change should have then continued to bolster and improve Tier 1 with new games and constant updates.
However, due to high popularity and growth, I thought it would be even more popular to start rewarding Freedom Tier and Tier 0 even more than before. That decision is slowly starting to backfire because instead of attracting more Tier 1 Patrons, it seems that new Patrons are more interested in Freedom Tier and Tier 0 as they offer pretty decent rewards for minimal cost.
In order to steer the ship back on track, the decision was made to move 2 game titles to Tier 1+ rewards and remove them from Freedom Tier and Tier 0. This would make Tier 1 more attractive to new Patrons as they would get more bang for their buck. The games in question are Lancaster Boarding House and Brentwood Motel, which I'm fairly sure that most if not all of you have already downloaded and played. You can still go ahead and grab them, they're still going to be up in the rewards page for a while before they are moved to Tier 1.
I know that some might see this change as negative but let me explain why the positive side outweighs the negative one. Like I said before, most of the Patrons have already played and finished these two games and if you want to play them again, go ahead and download them now, leave them on your hard drive for future use as well. But if this change works as intended and there are more Tier 1 Patrons, it will show up as an increase in content. What does that mean? More income = more new content being purchased, it also means better hardware upgrades which all translate to more games, better games and so on. As an example, I recently purchased online content worth around 700$ to use in the coming episodes of Erotica, among other *secret* projects. Not to mention hardware being replaced fairly often, rendering high amounts of images and animations really wears down a computer.
So in other words, we're back on track to what should have happened 2 years ago and that is the bolstering of Tier 1, which continues with Erotica being a Tier 1+ exclusive game (as mentioned previously). Also, if you got this far, you should also know that in what little free time I have, I'm also working on something new and a bit different... You will find out more soon. *hinting to the above image*
