[Magic Items] Fungal Items - Collaboration with Dungeon Strugglers

We teamed up with Dungeon Strugglers to bring you more fungal goodness this week. We'll let them introduce themselves below.

Puffbomb

Wondrous item, rare

This 3-inch diameter spherical fungal sac is filled with poisonous spores that burst forth if disturbed.

You can use an action to throw the puffbomb up to 60 feet. The puffbomb bursts on impact, expelling a 10-foot-radius cloud of spores that lingers for 1 round. When a creature enters the cloud’s area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, that creature must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d10 poison damage and is poisoned for 1 minute. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage and is not poisoned. A creature poisoned in this way is assaulted by hallucinations and paranoid delusions as if under the effect of the confusion spell. At the end of each of its turns, an affected target can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on a success.

Alternatively, you can use an action to attach the puffbomb’s sticky end to a solid surface. A puffbomb set in this way will burst when a creature touches it by entering the space it occupies.

Mycelial Mace

Wondrous item, uncommon (requires attunement)

This mace is formed from a large fungal stalk. A wispy cloud of spores continuously drifts from the porous cap. When you hit with an attack using this magic mace, the target takes an extra 1d4 poison damage.

A humanoid killed by this weapon rises at the start of your next turn as a fungal footman that is under your command, following your verbal orders to the best of its ability. The footman dies after 1 hour, and decomposes rapidly as fungus overtakes its body. Once this property of the mace occurs, it cannot occur again until the next dawn.
