June Plots & Plans

Hiya everyone... just a quick little summary of where chaos is at this month....

The mountain Pass battlemap (base landscape stage - snippet of it in the header) is very nearly ready. I just have a bunch of trees to shade and then I can combine it all into the final form and will post it here.
Then I will work on the Gate Fort as an overlay. Probably after the next Settlement map though....

The next settlement, Fort Owen, is in sketch stage and I am really looking forward to getting into another map at this scale. This one has 2 previous Battlemaps inspiring key locations (The Northern Fort & The Old Church Library)

If anyone has any interesting ideas for easter-egg locations in the surrounding countryside, let me know :-)

GeoCity set 5 (connecting roads on 1 side only): I needed a few weeks break from drawing new tiles ... got back into it yesterday and just drew the 11th one today. 14 to go.

GeoCity sets 1-4 are now up on Roll20 for those of you who would like the full sets with variations without becoming a Defender of Chaos.

In other news: I have seen a LOT of rainbows in the last few weeks
SO much rain and mist where I have been house/dog sitting - with enough sunshine to break that light up into glorious arcs of colour.
Also, first snow of the winter season on kunanyi, the mountain that looms over Hobart ....
Am heading North later this week to another House/Dog sit in the North of Tasmania, and looking forward to the (slightly) warmer weather up there!

Hope you all have a great month
Catch you soon
Misjay :-)

Yes... I am imagining a big hill with rocky bits going up behind the town. With little lakes backing up behind rocky outcrops. The other side of the river is a lot more flat though, and covered in wild forests. You are the 2nd person to mention a ruin :-) the other idea was the ruins of an old fort on the other side of the river... so that will be there, but I might put a another 1 or 2 in on both sides of the river. Maybe a runined watch-tower up the top of the hill ... will see what feel as best as it all grows.

Love the scale of the Ft Owen map, that will be great fun to see. Is it a mountainous area? I can imagine there are mountain lakes up there behind the town, and terraced vineyards/orchard/garden. Also thanks for the season update. We've not had a drop of rain in weeks and are well into the summer heat already here in the US. Very odd for this time of year, but "expect the unexpected" seems to be a growing theme in that department. Thanks for the update! Oh PS, if you could add a small building, maybe a ruin or broken foundation, somewhere in the hinterlands near Ft Owen, that would be marvelous.✨
