I ended up balancing out some of the color, as well as trying out a different way to interoperate color variation by using a huge brush to put in gradations at various points. I personally think this turned out the best in her hair. I think it just looks so much more eye catching. I also went with more subtle shading and highlights. As much fun as big glossy highlights all over the place can be, I think it can look a bit odd at times.
Of course, with each new piece, I'm going to try to keep experimenting with styles and approaches until I'm content with the results, but I think this one was a big step in the right direction!
