Sacchan was the one to write that advice indeed. To be honest I felt disappointed like Hijikata when Kuriko dumped her boyfriend immediately. Gintama is famous for playing around with openings/endings, episode order and also added content/four wall jokes outside of the episode to spend time so this won't be the only time you will be confuse. sometimes they made special openings/version for specific episodes.
