I mean...Hunter actually has noticeable similarities to Yu Yu, for example,....which is an even older Manga...by the same author And then there are mangas like Rurouni Kenshin etc. that had way more "early impact" than Hunter - a lot of great Mangas out there that were finished or close to finishing when Hunter debuted

If Dragon Ball was a major inspiration for all modern shonen, HxH was the other major inspiration. This anime came out in 2011 but it is a remake of an older series, and the manga pre-dates nearly all shonen.
