Oh man I miss the original 104th cadet class. Everyone hates Jean at this point in time, but he's the most relatable character imo, and eventually he becomes one of the most beloved characters in the series. Also, yeah the 3D maneuver gear is sick, basically turns everyone into Spiderman lol.
