this technique is pretty pretty powerful when used right, so I think, you should definitely add this to your toolkit!
Sorry that the lesson turned out to bit a bit long, but I wanted to include some design understanding and also how to create a proper re-usable spline rig!
If you want to dive directly into the softbody/cloth section, it should start roughly at 27:00.
Important Note: Feel free to activate the softbody parameter in the cloth tag and play with reducing the cloth tags bendiness and stretchiness to 0, to get a more stiff behaviour.
