2023-11-26 05:48:54 +0000 UTCI will always love that final Fido scene. You perfectly captured it by saying "it's the memories of every character that died, dying". Not only is it sad seeing Fido be destroyed, but then all those memories we just watched disappeared alongside it. Every moment we just witnessed, for characters we'll never see again, just died alongside him. When a key part of this show is about remembering the lost, with both Shin's tag collection and Lena's little drawings in her box, the complete destruction of those memories hits so hard. It's such a beautiful and emotional choice. My favorite scenes in the montage are when you see three of our surviving characters, all of whom outwardly give off a cheerful attitude, being recorded by Fido in moments of weakness. Anju's breakdown after leaving the building, Kurena questioning if she can even do anything to help Shin, and Theo wondering if he will be the next to die. I love those moments of weakness, especially for Kurena and Theo. Both are so cheerful around others, yet Fido alone saw them at incredibly low moments. Moments that are now lost.
