Hello Patrons!
I wanted to give you a little update about this since Patreon keeps sending me mails about it xD As seen in my first post below, something might change next month, July. Patreon wanted me to edit my tiers with adding benefits, which I could choose from a drop down menue. It might say "optional", but as I said Patreon was sending me reminders that I need, or should, take action for it. I hope I could save you from sales tax with this at least a little bit. But I hope you won't notice any change in general! ;u;
Just wanted to let you know that I tried my best to make this change feel like it would not exist >_<

I don't know if you got this information from Patreon as well but if not I wanted to show you this. It is about some tax changes starting in July. But don't worry, I don't think things will change much. I just wanted to let you know in case you see some change on your next pledge because of this:

Let me quote a bit from the article.
"Patreon already handles charging and paying VAT (European sales tax) for patrons in the EU, and has been doing so since 2015 when the laws changed in the EU. Over the past couple of years, many countries and many states in the United States have passed similar laws that require “online marketplaces” to apply sales tax to transactions."
"Within the US, we estimate that less than half of all patrons will have sales tax added to their pledge. Outside the US, it very much depends on the country where a patron is located. For most patrons the impact will be minimal, and many patrons won’t see any sales tax added to their pledge at all."

"How are you determining what is in my tiers?
Patreon will automatically detect what’s in your tiers based on keywords, and apply the right tax rate for each patron’s location, so you don’t need to take any action and sales tax will be handled."
Hm I am actually a little worried already since Patreons great detector has once set my Patreon Account to nsfw, why so ever lol I had to contact Patreon Support to remove that again since I wasn't allowed to change that back myself lol
Anyway, I hope we all won't see any big change due to this. But I felt to let you know about it, even if we hopefully don't notice much of it.

Ja ich weiß auch nicht was ich davon halten soll.. x_x Zumindest ist Deutschland nicht auf der Liste betroffener Länder, wenn ich das richtig gesehen habe. Aber ich hoffe das sich auch für die anderen nichts oder nicht viel ändert.. Es wäre mir lieber wenn weniger bei mir ankäme als das ihr mehr durch die Steuern zahlen müsstet für irgendeinen reward tier x_x Wobei das was bei mir ankommt, variiert fast jeden Monat, manchmal sogar sehr stark, wo ich nicht ganz druchblicke warum lol Selbst wenn ein Pledge keinen Schluckauf hatte. Dem kann ich nur zustimmen, warum man immer noch nicht wenigstens den Euro einbezogen hat find ich auch ziemlich scheiße, vor allem weil ja inzwischen auch viele Europäer Patreon benutzen. Wäre für uns jedenfalls eine Erleichterung aber naja |D" Was die automatische Erfassung betrifft mache ich mir auch etwas Sorgen, ob die mich dann auch richtig einstuft nachdem sie ja schon mal bei mir Dinge gesehen haben will die ich gar nicht mache lol |D" Warten wir mal ab was das mit den Steuerkram da jetzt ändert, ich hoffe wie gesagt das es keine merkliche Veränderung für uns alle ist x_x

Anstatt mal endlich die Funktion von örtlichen Währungen einzubringen, schraubt man lieber weiter an Steuern herum, und wenn es dann auch noch automatisch erfasst wird, habe ich Bange, dass am Ende noch weniger Geld bei dir ankommt... Ach nein, dann wird passend zu den Steuern mehr Gels vom Konto gebucht |DD Ich hoffe mal nicht, dass die Steuern dann steigen, und dass sie es doch noch irgendwann mal packen, weitere Währungen als den hässlichen Dollar einführen.
