The novel "Mobile Suit Gundam: Secret Rendezvous", written by director Yoshiyuki Tomino, provides background information about Lalah that was not revealed in the original 0079 TV series. 1) Indian origin: Lalah was born in India and grew up in poverty in an orphanage in Delhi as a child. 2) Sold to a brothel at age 9: Due to the harsh environment of the orphanage, she was sold to a brothel called βKabasβ at age 9, forced to learn about sex trafficking, and was even forced to read Kamasutra (Indian sex classic). "Kabas" referring to the "Kabas Estate" in this episode. 3) She started picking up clients at age 17: She grew up in a brothel and officially became a prostitute at the age of 17, having to receive "fixed clients" every month. 4) During a mission, Char went to the Kabas Estate because he sensed a NT connection that summoned him, and not because he wanted to find prostitutes (although he did mention that heβs not against having some fun since he was already there). Char meets her and discovers her Newtype potential and ransomed her out of training. In ORIGIN, it was changed to them meeting at a casino. 5) Later she developed a spiritual resonance with Amuro, but was mistakenly killed by Amuro to protect Char.
