Exam Hack | CIE A2 Maths | S2 | Probability Density Function Question

Comments

Thank you very much

Adetona Adegbite

Because the function is quadratic with x intercepts at 0 and 20, thus the middle value or expected value of t 'E(T)' will be 10. (halfway between them)

Please can you give me an explanation to question 6b I really need it

Adetona Adegbite

there is a question like this in march 2022. we need to find P ( |X| < 1) which is just P ( -1 < X < 1) or 2*phi(z) -1.

Advaith Kumar

I got you ask as many questions as you want.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh cheers bro. life saver.

I just times into the brackets by x, has nothing to do with the 3/16. "x*(4x - x^2) = 4x^2 - x^3".

Intuitive

Quick question. second question part a. right before you integrate you add 1 to both the powers. is that a normal thing when youve moved the 3/16 to the other side?

xDuutch

I haven’t seen a exam question like that but it would just be a piecewise function defined by two lines (f(x) = -x , for x < 0 & f(x) = x for x > 0). So, if you wanted to find something like P(|X| >2) you’d have to find two integrals between (-2, -infinity) & (2,infinity), where the infinity’s will be the start and finish of where the function is defined. If you send me an actual question on here or instagram I can do a written answer for you.

How do you calculate probabilities where X is an absolute value? for i.e P( ∣X∣ > 2)

Please upload hypothesis videos sir

Aarnav

I'm working on them.

Intuitive

hi can you please do the other topics ..like hypothesis testing
