Radious Total War Mod - Warhammer III Blog Entry #5

Hello everyone, Team Radious here!

Welcome to the fifth entry in our WHIII Radious Overhaul Development Blog! The festive period is over, and most of us have now returned to the boring mundanity of everyday life. But after having one too many shots of a certain transparent liquid during New Year’s Eve celebrations, and spending too much time outside in the cold afterwards, some of the members of our team felt the same way that the countless boyars of Kislev must do after  a particularly raucous night of celebration, but hopefully without  having had their soul taken by a deamonette. In spirit of this sudden  kindredness, we share this blog entry for you to enjoy, so put on your fur hats, saddle that brown bear that we all know you have in your  backyard and let us ride out into the frozen wastes of Kislev.

As  of now, Kislev seems too already have three different Lords, but one of them, the Ataman, appears to be different to all others we have seen until now. As Such, we will wait until we can test it and see how it works before deciding if we make a custom Lord too.

Kislev

Kislev is a harsh land, populated with harsh people. It must be this way, or otherwise it would have fallen long ago  to the bloodthirsty tribes of the north or imploded under the internal  pressures caused by the constant scheming of cultists and those opposed to the Tzarina’s rule. These constant and unrelenting threats push those who value their way of life towards a more structured and militaristic outlook on life, which results in warriors of superior quality, unquestionable skill, and ruthlessness to spare.

Kislev Roster Expansion

Kislevite Militia

Kislev is a dangerous land, and only the biggest cities provide protection against the marauding monsters and savage hordes so even their citizens are ready to take up arms and defend the walls until reinforcements  arrive.

Basic infantry armed with shields and swords or spears.

Woodsmen

Tough men, accustomed to arduous work and an even harder environment, most of  them have had to protect their camps from Forest Goblins or Beastmen  raiders more than once and can be called to defend the villages or even the biggest cities of Kislev in times of need.

Immune to psychology since they faced the dangers of the harshest lands of Kislev and survived unscathed.

Torch Bearers of Dazh

As the God of the Fire, Hearth and Home, his followers are always willing to defend their homeland and protect the lives of their fellow Kislevites, employing weapons blessed  by his power to burn the enemy to cinders. With its being so effective  against the mutant denizens of the Troll Country it is no wonder they can be seen patrolling its borders periodically.

Light archers on foot and on horse armed with flaming arrows.

Sons of Ursun

The  Sons of Ursun are the most fanatical and most respected worshippers of the Bear God. They march alone into the deepest of the woods searching for one of the biggest bears and must fight it with their own hands as a test of their faith and strength. Should they kill the bear, they will be allowed to wear the pelt and other trophies and will swear to protect  the Land of the Bear God until their deaths, now hunting the monsters that corrupt the wilderness.

Monster hunters armed with shield and spear or halberds.

Kreml Watch

Igor the Terrible was not only the most feared Tzar of all time, but also the most paranoid one, so he created this unit of heavily armed bodyguards composed of the most fanatically  loyal members of the Kislevite army and noble houses, all of them ready to give their lives for their master and obey any order without hesitation.

Heavy infantry potentially armed with a variety of weapons.

Tzar Noble Cavalry

While Winged Lancers can be from any origin, if they have the needed skills, the Noble Cavalry is composed only of members from the richest families of Kislev who wish to prove their absolute allegiance to the ruler of Kislev providing them with a permanent body of well trained and geared soldiers always ready to follow them to battle.

Elite shock cavalry with heavy armour riding horses.

Ungol Riders

Not without reason, the Ungol are considered by everyone as the best human horsemasters that have ever existed, as good as the legendary elven riders. They live in the  steppes, always on the move hunting monsters and beasts, only stopping  to trade for a day or two in a settlement before leaving again or to  join the Kislevite forces when a massive Chaos invasion approaches.

Extremely skilled and fast riders armed with bows or lances.

Armoured Ungol Horse Archers

Though Ungol riders value speed, they have learned that not all Chaos servants are as slow and easily surrounded as trolls, beastmen or heavy infantry and many of those who can afford it have chosen to wear heavy chainmail  and shields to avoid being killed too soon by a flying daemon they would never be able to outrun.

Slower but heavily armoured archers on horse who can still manoeuvre around the enemy easily.

Hammers of Tor

The Kislevite God of Storms, those who fight in his name either roam around under the open sky in search of enemies by themselves or join bigger forces that have already found  them. Then, they proceed to smash their foes them with the force of thunder and the speed of lightning. Though some old-fashioned priests consider that they have been influenced by southern Knightly Orders, none can deny their faith and strength.

Heavy armoured infantry wielding magic two handed hammers.

Wardens of the Homeland

While cavalry is the best choice to patrol the borders and the oblast, Kislev also has high mountains, deep crags, and dark forests where abundant threats wait for their chance to attack. Troll and Ogre invasions, Greenskin raiders, corrupted monsters without name, warpstone mutated  horrors... these warriors have seen it all and fought it all.

Heavy armoured and shielded infantry very resistant to fatigue and almost unbreakable.

Lynsk Boatmen

Though  not as famous as the rivers of the Empire, the Lynsk is still used by many merchants as it is the safest way to travel from the great port of Erengrad to Praag. It´s no wonder that many raiders or greenskins try to assault the ships during their voyage, but it´s no wonder either that traders do not like losing their goods and money, hence why they got the  permit to maintain a force of skilled soldiers, the only condition being that they can be called to defend the land of Kislev in times of need. Many a song has been written about their bravery and resilience after a glorious campaign.

Medium tier unit with decent armour, halberds, and crossbows.
