Retiring The $1 Tier

Hey everyone! Today I'm going to be posting about changing the $1 Tier to a $2 Tier, and the special new reward the $2 Tier will have from now on!

There's a few reasons why I've decided to retire this tier, but a big reason is because Patreon themselves have suggested it. You guys can see the slideshow for yourself here: https://docsend.com/view/cymww2u

So not only is Patreon suggesting creators to get rid of their $1 tier, but $2 tiers would be better in terms of supporting the channel, because it'll increase our take home earnings. That means we could do channel upgrades faster, because we'd have more to pour back into the channel. 

Based on the financials of it, unfortunately at the $1 tier, we're basically pledging most of our money towards fees. $2 Tiers will make sure your money is going towards the actual channel you're pledging to.

It also mentions during the slideshow that $2 tiers have a higher retention rate. That basically means more people will stay on a $2 tier then a $1 tier. If based on the data they've collected, Patreon is suggesting this for their creators, I think it's a really good idea to take this advice.

My other reason is that when looking at other creators, a lot of them no longer have $1 Tiers, they have also switched to $2 tiers. Looking at that in itself, I want to make sure I know my own worth, and I'm not underselling any of my rewards when compared to other people.

This is a bit of a side note, but I see a lot of other creators charging say, $5 for Discord Server access and $10 for early access. I don't want to go that far, because I personally like how my tiers are set up, and I disagree with the high prices of certain rewards. But, basically what I'm saying is I feel like when people are charging 2x or 5x my tier price for the same rewards, a $1 increase isn't unreasonable.

I hope you guys can understand where I'm coming from! But to make the $2 more worth it for some of you, because I know that money can be tight, I'm going to introduce a new reward.

At the beginning of every month, you guys will be able to vote for me to watch the first episode of an anime or cartoon. People would submit their suggestions, and then you guys would have a vote. This will encourage us to watch some new anime, or maybe you guys want to show us something really crazy and weird! If we like the show enough, it may be one of the anime that we put in our weekly rotation, so this is a great way to introduce us to new anime without anyone using video tickets! This reward will start right away, and it'll be a really fun community event!
