For this vlog-style video, I want to talk about a few vocabularies that you might find interesting.
- The first one is อำเภอปากช่อง (am-per bpàak chông) and จังหวัดนครราชสีมา (jang-wàt ná-kon râat sĕe-maa). อำเภอ means district and จังหวัด means province.
Thailand is divided into provinces (there are 77), and each province is further divided into districts. So the Pak Chong district is located in the Nakhon Ratchasima province.
- EGAT. EGAT is an abbreviation for 'Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand'.
- พญานาค (pá-yaa-nâak). This refers to the "Naga Serpent" or you might know it as Nagaraja. Basically, it's a serpent-like figure that appears in Indian religions and Buddhism.
- ใช้ชีวิต (chái chee-wít) literally breaks down to "use life" but it means "to live", "to make a living".
For example:
- ใช้ชีวิตให้คุ้ม
chái chee-wít hâi kúm
Live life to the fullest.
- ใช้ชีวิตให้สนุก ไม่ต้องเครียด
chái chee-wít hâi sà-nùk · mâi dtông krîiat
