Exploring Jim Thorpe, PA: Getting back to nature in the Pocono Mountains
Added 2024-11-15 16:23:31 +0000 UTCMegan and I spent a few days in beautiful Jim Thorpe, PA. This is a lovely mountain village in the Pocono Mountains of northeast Pennsylvania. We waited until the crowds had all gone home and most of the leaves had already turned. Join us for the highlights from our trip!

I love the view when you're going over the bridge heading into town from the highway, & the Mauch Chunk station. Sadly, the family's all dead & gone now so there's fewer opportunities to get out that way.

2024-11-16 13:25:10 +0000 UTCI rarely comment on here but your post just reminded me of when I travelled south to the US for professional duties. November 2001, a few months after 9/11, I spent 5 weeks in Pennsylvania. Spent like 10 days in the Pittsburgh area, then a couple of weeks in central more rural areas. I experienced Amish country. Very respecful people. I had a blast. I than travelled to Alabama and Florida later that same winter and also had a blast. I'm really glad the USA are our southern neighbours, No matter what is going on with your politics or ours, because, believe me, we're really not much better. In 2024, it seems like no-one but crooks get involved in politics. I just try to enjoy every minute of it all anyway. We got just one life to live and it's passing so quickly. Music has saved my life. I always have a tune playing in my brain, it helps me going through all of this shit. I subscribed your Patreon because you can feel the music and understand it. Keep it up! Peace.

2024-11-16 07:57:32 +0000 UTCIs there any doubt that you guys live in paradise? I think not! This brought back memories of my travelling days in USA, coming into Pittsburg and experiencing the weird combination of early industrialisation and untamed rural landscape. Wish I could be there again π₯°

2024-11-15 17:18:14 +0000 UTCIn the meantime, from farther south in PA, I recently attended the members-only sneak preview of the newly renovated Longwood Gardens. I know it is a place you guys enjoy and you'll love what they've done. Perhaps we'll bump elbows there one of these days.
