Nightwish: Imaginaerum | Extended Play Lounge Ep. 89
Added 2025-04-26 15:42:20 +0000 UTCI can't believe it's taken us until episode 89 to get to a Nightwish album. I REALLY enjoyed this listen and this episode. With Imaginaerum, Nightwish is exploring the human condition with a concept album. The focus is on an old and dying composer who looks back on his life... questioning his choices, reliving his ups and downs, and trying to figure out what it all means. This type of subject is exciting to me, and the music is wonderful! I hope you enjoy!

Just watched this reaction and loved it. Parts remind me of The Moody Blues. I will definitely be checking out more from this band. That's part of the reason why I love being here and broadening my musical tastes👌🙂

2025-05-26 16:20:39 +0000 UTCAll of their studio albums are worth many listens imho, even Angels Fall First--their first which was, essentially, a demo. Between the changing vocal lineups, the musical evolution, and the thematic shifts, it's a fascinating metamorphosis.

2025-04-30 16:19:23 +0000 UTCYour reaction to Song of Myself is a true treasure, imo. We could see the power and impact of the spoken word section all over your face. I looked it up afterwards, and although the poem was inspired by Whitman, it was written entirely by Tuomas. The line that hit hardest for me personally was "Oh, how rotten your pre-apocalypse is". The exact brand of religion that I was raised in was constantly looking towards the rapture/end-times/etc, to the point where I considered not going to college as I was -so sure- that The End would come in the next decade or so (around Y2K). Keep on giving us your real and honest reactions. Glad you loved this one, and hope next time we can do Endless Forms :)
