Thanks for your patience! This was quite an undertaking...over 114 minutes of music is included in Snow by Spock's Beard, and I'm listening to all of it! I hope you enjoy!
I just logged in after being gone for a while, and I'm SOOOO GLAD to have found this was done!!! My schedule for tonight is now full!!

I did not know you and Megan had such important financial difficulties. You have all my respect for getting through it. Keep it up Doug!

Thanks for replying Jan. I guess I'll get the studio recording, and see if I can sample the live version. I can feel my wallet emptying 🤣

Live was one of a kind! Only 2 performances ever. But studio rules too, great production!

Thank you for this, Doug, and for sharing at the end of the video. Happy to be a soldier in the army! I dismissed Snow initially because of the religious connotations, guess I should have been more open. Most of it is great! I love the extended play lounge, looking forward to the next prog masterpiece!

I just finished this, and I am very moved by the sharing at the end.
Doug you have something special, and you are giving something very special to people like me, who traveled a long way down their musical path on their own, holding on to their passion for music as a lifeboat. With your gifts you have created a community.
I wonder where this goes from here, and I'm sure you do too, but this is a special moment and you should be very proud of what you have done. Your quick mind and your perceptiveness kept me watching, but your open heart makes me believe in you.
Perhaps this is the apt place to say God's speed to you.

Thanks for the recommendation. I see the wealth of recordings to discover - I note there is a live recording of Snow, would you choose the live or the studio version for preference?

New to SB? You have a lot of great material to discover ahead of you. As a long time SB appreciator - I strongly recommend "The Kindness of Strangers" album. Their pinnacle for me. An all time classic.

Unusually, I have to comment before I've finished listening!
What a joy! This is top level Prog. Never heard a note of Spock's Beard before, and it's immediately wonderful. This band is influenced but not derivative, they stand alongside the prog greats of the 1970's.
I love the ambition, the vision, and the range of this music, and I admire the achievement of the excellent musicians involved.
I can soak this music in. I would never have heard this if it weren't for this channel, so thanks to Doug and to the Council of Dougs.
I am overcome with enthusiasm!

And it was also Neal's farewell to Spock's fans.

Heeeeey, if this is Chris, I believe I met you at the 2016 Morsefest!

FYI Those spoken words at the very end are paraphrasing Joe Cocker's stage remarks to the crowd at Woodstock at the end of "With A Little Help From My Friends."

So it's "A high price to pay", and not "A high priced toupee"...

This is a really important album to me. I had been into Spock's but hadn't super gotten into this one yet. I took a full week and made sure to listen to this album in full once a day, and it clicked for me. In 2016 I went to Nashville to see Spock's perform the album in full at Morsefest, and it was one of the best concerts of my life! What an experience. One of the wildest moments was, during intermission, looking back and seeing Eric Gilette and Bill Hubauer from NMB just chilling and enjoying the show. Me and some other folks went back to say hi and they were very nice.
Not only does Snow end up at a concert, he ends up at a Spock's show! Wonderful little piece of self-referential humor.
The final Wind At My Back segment is one of those perfect album endings. Just like with The Who's See Me, Feel Me, this is a piece that could just go on forever and I'd be happy listening to it for just as long. When I was heavily involved with my church, I convinced the music team for us to play that one Sunday, the vocal harmonies were the hardest part for them to get down but I think it turned out pretty good!
I'm glad this album spoke to you the way it did. I adore this one. Thanks for the great reaction!

Keep moving yourself forward Doug. I'm sure there are people experiencing the same thing. You'll find yourself friend. Keep searching.

I love these musical Theatrical albums. I kinda feel like I am beating a dead horse with my obsession with The Dear Hunter, but it fits here. If anyone here is a fan of Snow for the theatrical story telling through music. Check out The Dear Hunter Acts. 5 album long story. And they are in the process of the next multiple album story.

"the people in your orbit can be uplifted by what you're doing"... amen sir. Your denouement at the end of this video was precious, Doug. Thank you. I'll have an extended personal response that I'll share on Discord tomorrow, but for now, once again, thank you for sharing!

Wow, Doug. Thank you for being so vulnerable at the end. I’m touched to know that the music has such an impact on you. It got me through a really difficult time after my first divorce, and I like to share it with friends and family who are also going through their own struggles.

I'd forgotten how good Snow is! Your life story is probably not far removed from many others, and it's great to see you finding your place in life.

Thanks Doug! What a masterpiece. Can't say enough about Nick, his drumming is so frikin' slick, but what I wouldn't give to hear him sing this entire record as lead vox, chills, man!
