It's been on my radar for such a long time, but the time finally felt right, especially given the latest series of events involving police brutality and the rise of protests. I honestly had no idea Terry was an African American until earlier this year, even though I've taught this case to my Government students for years.

Β The highlight being the prescient dissenter.Β I think criminal defendants still use the "fruit of a poison tree" defense even more often as a result of this, because it makes it easier for police to exceed norms of conduct.
