The Supreme Court Case that Defined States' Rights | Barron v. Baltimore

I am currently almost halfway done writing my book about the Supreme Court. This is one of the cases I highlight in the book, of course. I would argue this is a top 10-important Supreme Court case in American history to know about. I wish I made this video sooner!

Thank you for your continued support!

Oh, and happy 2023!

Yeah, it was an...interesting...place to draw the line

I'm still baffled at how Marshall went against his track record of establishing federal government power by not applying the application of The Bill of Rights to the state level.

Happy New Year, Stacey!

Happy new year! Gonna watch video now!

Thank goodness for the 14th Amendment later on!

Mr. Beat

Thanks Joe!

Ohh wow that case was scary. i cant imagine living in a world where that was fully passed, we get close to it today but i always saw the bill of rights as the one overwriting principle for state, local, and federal governments.

As a new subscriber, this is great! I’m fascinated by the history of states’ rights. Keep it up! Thanks!

I wish more folks liked them. Glad you dig them, though. I'll add that case to my future video idea list.

Mr. Beat

These are my favorite of your videos. Have you done one on Morgan v. Virginia? I feel like that was the first time the federal government started to see the wrongs of segregation.

Alex Gorell

That's awesome

Mr. Beat

Oh I already have considered it!

Mr. Beat

You should consider doing your favorite/least favorite SC decisions. πŸ‘πŸΌ

Happy 2023 bach atcha. Can’t wait for your book. I used to volunteer to create audio books for the visually impaired. One such book I read aloud involved SCOTUS and I’ve been interested ever since.
