After a Long Delay - An Update

So...I've been pretty silent on here lately, and I need to apologize for that. As some of you may already know, or as you may have seen posted elsewhere, I tend to suffer from a bit of seasonal depression around the autumn months each year, starting in late September and going through November. I had planned to try and work through it this year by just focusing on an ambitious video production schedule, but obviously, that didn't exactly come to pass.

Unfortunately, I do tend to withdraw, socially, from everything and everyone when I get into one of these depressive moods, which is somewhat ironic since I suspect part of my issues with depression this year have stemmed from the prolonged, now multi-year, social isolation of the pandemic. But hey, no one ever said depression made any kind of sense.

Regardless, I just want to apologize for my lengthy silence, the channel wouldn't be able to function without your support, and I know I need to do a better job at communicating what's going on with video production, instead of disappearing for a month.

Speaking of, I do have some announcements on that front. First and foremost, addressing the behind the scenes content, after working on multiple 2-hour long podcast videos, I've decided that the best course of action, going into the future, is to reduce the focus of each video to testing just one mod, or at most three smaller mods. These longer podcast videos are just creating too much extra work in addition to the regular video schedule, but if we focus on just one mod per video, we'll be able to release two behind the scenes mod-testing videos each week. The first of those will be popping up sometime this weekend, and after that, every Wednesday and Saturday.

In addition, there's another Patreon-exclusive series I'm planning to start releasing soon, basically a precursor to new episodes of Let's Mod Morrowind. Thing is, I'm a bit rusty, and the next proper episode of Let's Mod Morrowind is going to focus on building mods with OAAB Data and Tamriel Data, but one of the biggest obstacles to using big new asset collections is, simply put, familiarity. It takes time to learn object IDs and figure out what you can make with any new set of assets. So, I thought the learning process, and building some very small mods to get used to all the new toys in OAAB Data and Tamriel Data, might make for a good supplemental Patreon series. It'll be a bit rough around the edges, compared to Let's Mod Morrowind, since these will very much NOT be tutorials, but hopefully it might provide some interesting content.

Going on to the video schedule though, we have a number of videos in production that should, hopefully, be out shortly. You should start seeing early access posts for the next batch of Mod of the Day videos here momentarily, and in addition, this weekend, we'll be airing Darkelfguy's Favorite Mods - Episode 3 (at long last), and a Community News video going over some of the highlights from this year.

Other videos that are currently planned and/or in-development include:

Also related to video production, I'm going to be hosting a few polls on here in the coming days to help clarify what we should cover in some of our core series. In particular, Episode 77 of Morrowind Modding Showcases has been stuck in production limbo due to an incomplete mod layout, which in turn is due to a lack of theme appropriate mods for the Patreon voted on theme. There's a few ways we can get around that, but I wanted to put that up to a vote before finalizing Episode 77's mod layout.

We'll have that poll out tomorrow most likely, so stay tuned! I have quite a bit planned for the remainder of November and December, and I can only hope to make up for my prolonged absence this past month. Thank you all for your continued support, and if you have any suggestions for additional video ideas, do feel free to let me know!

Glad you're back. Life is hard sometimes. We get it. You do this voluntarily, so I'm not going to complain if you need time off. I enjoy your videos when you post them. Thanks for all you do to keep Morrowind alive.

Good to finally hear from you - recent weeks aside, do try to limit the number of videos you're planning and promising. May just be me, but I feel like not stressing out over that as much as you seem to be would be a good thing. Even if it means we have less videos to watch/listen to.
