Dragon Priests Retexture SE WIPs

Hey everyone! Here is a 1st look at my dragon priest retexture. This one should be very big, so it will most likely take a little longer than my last few retextures.

Pictured above is Hevnoraak, with the matching robes and armor from KA. It is a good example of my design philosophy for this retexture. I want to masks to look fairly simple. I do not like how most retextures give them fancy, complex designs. I feel like these masks should look mysterious and intimidating. I also really want to make it clear what metal they are made from. In vanilla, each mask uses a different ingot for tempering. I will be basing my designs on this. So, for example, Hevnoraak uses an iron ingot, so I match its textures to my iron armor retexture. Vokun uses a steel ingot so will match steel armor, Rahgot will match Orcish armor, etc. And all hoods will have the same simple design you can see in the screenshots, all that will change will be the colors.

I am not sure exactly what will end up being included but here is what I have in mind so far:

Vanilla items

• All dragon priest masks (vanilla, Acolytes and Miraak)
• Miraak Robes, sword and staff
• Cultists robes (maybe?)
• Dragon priest staves and dagger
• Staff of Magnus (will either be here since Morokei wields it or in the artifacts retexture)
• Dragon priests NPCs (This is a big maybe)
  
  Consistency Patches
• Konahrik's Accoutrements (all robes, armors and new masks)
• LOTD (the 3 masks it adds and variants of the dragon priest staff)
• Wyrmstooth (I will redo my old rusty mask retexture and package it in this mod)

Patches

• Improved Closed faces helmets
• Warmonger Armory
  

Unfortunately, the vanilla dragon priest masks are really weirdly set up. They all share the same hood, normal map and most of them don't even use cubemap reflections. For those reasons, I will include mesh replacers to fix all these issues. I will include patches for Improved closed face helmets and Warmonger armory (it adds masks you can wear around your belt). Thankfully, Dovah Sonaak - Dragon Priest Masks SE already has all these mesh patches made and is open permission. Meaning I was able to take their meshes as a starting point and tweak them to match my needs instead of doing it all from scratch, saving me hours of boring work!


I hope you are all looking forward to this project! I always have fun doing these retextures, but this one is the most fun I have had in a long while. This project is something I have had in mind for a long time and am very happy to finally be doing it.
