Americans First Time Watching Father Ted S1E2 Entertaining Father Stone

You’re right he does get a plaque on the wall if you watch carefully in later episodes you will see father Stones picture on the wall! 😊

Craig Jackson

Do you also take a business day to respond to someone?

Killermcknight

I'm father stone lol, but not intentionally. If people keep speaking with me leading the convo it's fine. But without effort it's just short answers like from him.

I had the exact same He-Man duvet as a kid. Don't know why, really, I wasn't much of a fan. Perhaps it was going cheap. The "Good God, look at the time" priest at Ted's party is Arthur Mathews, one of the show's two writers. He and Graham Linehan pop up from time to time in different roles, Hitchcock style.

Steve Webster

alright babies It does get better

This is a rough episode. Thankfully its all uphill from here.

I don’t remember this episode at all but I don’t like ones that don’t have much to it like this one. It was still funny at least. I would hate this guy 😅 if I’m around someone that doesn’t talk a lot then I will talk way more to fill the awkward silence, i become a rambling idiot, I even annoy myself with it 😅😅 I’m glad this wasn’t the first episode because it might have put you off, I think it would me. I know it’s a lot better than this usually because I remember loving this show!! Happy Birthday to Stephen 🍻

Agreed

This episode is probably the one I've watched the least. The whole joke around Father Stone's awkward silences is slightly overplayed, to the point that it makes the episode a little tedious. Also, there's not enough Mrs Doyle or Father Jack in this one. I can understand why this episode left you a little unsure, but I think you'll enjoy the next episode more as it's a good 'un.

Stevie and his flip flop of feelings for Father Stone reminds me of a certain online admirer of Stevie's...

Ardel O'Hanlon, who plays Father Dougal, starred in another, much underrated sitcom, called "My Hero". Just sayin' ;)

Darryl Glynn

Yay, can't wait to watch later today. 🙏

That was great timing! Coincidentally the theme was written by the Divine Comedy, and they later added words to it and released it as Songs of Love
