It's funny watching this as I do the tesco's dot.com shopping. So I pick up the customers shopping for delivery. And this is like my morning at work lol

2025-11-10 07:29:51 +0000 UTCI (Taylor) would say the British way, just because I grew up watching The Great Mouse Detective (itโs one of my favorite movies ๐) and thereโs a character there with that being his name and thatโs how itโs pronounced. But the herb, definitely say the American way. Stephen said โprobably basil (the American way) first, then someone would correct him and heโd try to pronounce it the correct way.

2025-11-09 20:33:38 +0000 UTCJust curious, if someone's name is Basil, (my father's name) would you pronounce it the American way or the British way?

2025-11-09 16:56:24 +0000 UTCShe did a good job with this, I pay for Tesco โclubcard plusโ where we pay ยฃ8 per month but get 10% off 2 shops per month (max ยฃ40 discount) so if you use that to your advantage you can get ยฃ32 of free food for nothing. Plus Iโm a typical Yorkshireman so like to stack those benefits by getting clubcard price products with the extra 10% too. We have a saying up here - if tha looks after the pennies, the pounds look after themselves. No truer words have ever been spoken ๐ thanks guys, great reaction

2025-11-08 14:50:50 +0000 UTCIt's Internet and phone plans where you guys pay insane amounts, you are getting properly ripped off over there! As an example I pay ยฃ13 a month for unlimited calls, messages and data

2025-11-08 13:26:49 +0000 UTCYou think it's gonna be more real in the states? ๐
Jamie Derry
2025-11-08 12:40:44 +0000 UTCYup Tesco clubcard is free, the catch is that clubcard prices are closer to what we should be charged, so anyone not using it are getting majorly ripped off

2025-11-08 09:58:57 +0000 UTCHoney in supermarkets here isn't real honey, it's processed and infused with sugar in China then imported. For real honey in the UK you'd need to buy from independent sources.

2025-11-08 08:48:27 +0000 UTCIt's triggering me that she keeps calling the Clubcard prices "sale" prices.

2025-11-08 08:30:54 +0000 UTCCheapest bread here is up to 55p per 800g, standard cheap store own 75-80p 800g Clubcard prices are the "real" prices that match other stores, its just a gimmick to get you a loyalty card (and therefore more likely to continue shopping with them and feel like youre getting a good deal). Theres a channel 4 documentary that explains it all and compares basket to basket between supermarkets and youre really only saving about ยฃ2 vs another grocery shop, i think it was ยฃ32 instead of ยฃ34 and no clubcard it was ยฃ38 Milk goes in the fridge door, creamfields is actually tesco. Dozen tesco eggs ยฃ2.30 Our cows aren't fed growth enhancers/boosters. Dry mustard for cheese sauces and such. Tesco, asda, Morrisons, all rewards cards are free and yes basically 1 minute to sign up to it, so toothbrushes and toothpaste are actually cheaper in the UK and yeah, time of shop affects prices.
Nick Jarrett
2025-11-08 08:30:52 +0000 UTCI shop at Tesco. That Creamfields brand is cheap and tastes cheap. The only thing I will buy is the cheese slices (like burger cheese). Itโs like the budget alternative.

2025-11-08 08:30:16 +0000 UTCRegarding the bread, weโve got bakeries all over the place. Iโm not that far from the Warburtons bakery which is a well known brand. Iโm also quite close to the McVities factory where they make hobnobs, digestives etc. I love driving past there, it smells amazing ๐คค

2025-11-08 08:25:44 +0000 UTCIโve got the club cards, no it dosent cost anything, plus if you get your petrol at their garages you can use your points card, so when Christmas comes I get all my Christmas food on my different club cards so I hardly spend anything. Iโve got most of the club cards as I shop at all the supermarket pts throughout the year
