Hi all!

The Mayor smiled and bade the girl in. Noah couldn’t stop himself from staring like a gormless monkey. She had long, dark, frizzy hair and a carefree walk that spoke of an easy life floating from one drooling patron to the next, briefly stopping beside the mayor who eyed her body ravenously. Her wedge heels clopped on the floor like hooves.

“Seabass and asparagus.”

“Oh, I do like fish.”

The mayor winked at them. Silver grinned as if it were some princely joke. Noah simply gave an awkward nod back, allowing the girl to place the meal down on his desk.

“Jiya added some extra garnish again.”

“Well Jiya insists on the personal touch,” the Mayor said with a guilty smile as she came back to trail a hand across his shoulders.

“She made it just how you like... extra creamy!”

“I thought last time was already.. creamy....”

His voice had changed to something far less robust, as if he were half asleep, and Noah watched with a raised eyebrow as she rubbed the man’s shoulder.

“Jiya knows you like your cream.”

“I... sure do...”

The mayor seemed like he might dribble all over his statue as she took care to keep her fingers tickling all the way to the back of his neck and away. He staggered over and raised the lid, and Noah saw a seabass fillet almost swimming in white liquid, green beans and asparagus sitting in neat rows beside it.

“Wow, she wasn’t lying about the cream...”

Silver raised his eyebrow.

“Got any for me hon?”

Chloe gave him the tightest smile possible.

“Apologies, but no.”

An aroma hit them then that briefly stopped all conversation as Noah blanched. It felt like a gas bomb had detonated in the middle of the office, and he tried his best to control the fit of coughing that followed.

“HHGHHOh, is that... a-a foreign flavour of some kind?... seems.... hhoh... oddly familiar...”

Mayor Bernstein frowned, licking his lips.

“What? It’s just seabass with full cream. One hundred percent natural right?” he said turning back to Chloe.

“Yes, all organic.” She said, smiling with her whole face as if nothing in the world pleased her more than Mayor blah eating organic cream, “Jiya made sure of it.”

Once his nostrils managed to adjust, Noah found himself staring curiously at the dish. It felt like something he’d smelt before, yet fancier than anything he usually ate. He addressed Chloe.

“As... particular as that taste is... may I try a piece? My wife loves foreign cuisine.”
