Added 2023-04-18 04:37:40 +0000 UTCI'm in the middle of digging up a pile of Girl Genius art for Rain Games, so they can put some fun easter eggy stuff into the video game. They've given me a wishlist folder of low res pictures that they want better versions of, or in some cases, art without word balloons. So one of them was a picture of the Awful Tower in Paris, and we couldn't find the thing anywhere. I finally put it into Chrome and did a reverse image search, and it turns out they got this art off the Girl Genius Wiki page for Paris. Very good. Now, where did THEY get it?

Finally Victor found it. It's a small panel on one of the pages in City of Lightning. Some enterprising wikiian did some very nice photo editing and erased the word balloons, which threw us off. We'd been looking for a much larger panel. So that was a minor mystery solved. We were starting to think "Maybe it's from GURPS? Maybe it's from the Works card game? Travel stickers? WHERE?!"
Everything else they've asked for has been a lot easier to find.

Kaja, I am sorry to hear that you spent so long searching for the origin of the extracted panel used on the Girl Genius wiki, since that image, like many, if not most or all of the images used on the wiki, is sourced. So I can tell you, with less than 30 seconds of work, that the image came from panel 3 of the online comic page found at this URL: https://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20150812 If you click on an image on the wiki, then click on the "more info" icon in the upper right corner, you can see the source information, if it was included.
