Supporter Newsletter - January

Hello to all of our beautiful Supporters! It’s finally time to start off in a new year with so many possibilities. With December coming to a close, I have some really cool things to share with you all now. Things like the new Sea of Thieves update, a merger coming in, upcoming website revamp, new staff, admin promotions, and more. December was a pretty jam-packed month for the staff. I can’t wait to share more so let’s get right into it.

Over the month of December we finally brought on new admins to the team. Two new admins to be exact. Those promotions went to Mookest and Spylon who have both been with our community for a great deal of time. Penny and I felt that they were perfect candidates for people we want to help us run this community as best we can. That being said, you can expect to see other promotions in the future to have more Admins on our team. We’ll never overfill the team but we do have roles that we’d like to fill in different areas.

Some other changes have been happening to our staff team as well. Over the past couple of months we’ve brought on new Moderators to the team which will be filling some much needed roles. Roles like our Sea of Thieves Lead, Recruitment Lead, and an all new role, FiveM Lead. Our FiveM lead will be filled by our newest Moderator to the team, Sherm. He will be primarily leading over our FiveM Section within the community but also help out as a general moderator to anything the community needs to thrive.

The new FiveM section is being introduced from a merger that’s coming in. Sherm has been a member of our community for over a year now and has also run his own community for FiveM known as MonolithRP. We’ve been talking to Sherm for a little while about making this merger happen and it’s finally here. Our goal is to bring more gaming experiences to our community, along with new faces for everyone to meet and enjoy gaming with. It would be worth adding that our new FiveM section is going to be focused around the roleplaying aspect and for anyone that’s interested in giving it a try, make sure you grab the new FiveM role in Discord. We aren’t officially announcing everything until it’s completely setup but now all of you have the early details.

Along with the merger, we also have some other changes coming to Requiem that we feel are very much needed. One of which are going to be an update/revamp to our current website. The website is pretty much going to take a complete overhaul of what it is currently so that we can bring you something better. There’s so many plans for the website, such as moving our Patreon subscription service to our own sort of subscription service that we can have more control over if any issues arise. There will be more shared on the changes and updates that will come with our website once we have our new roadmap for 2021 complete which we will share with our Supporters and staff.

I’ve talked about this in the community newsletter as well but I’m pretty excited to see all of the new additions to Sea of Thieves coming in it’s new update. As the developers have said already, the game is not going to be slowing down anytime soon. With that, they’ve also announced that we’ll be getting a battle pass sort of system which will give you more incentive to play the game and unlock rewards over time. You will be able to buy a premium pass know as the “Plunder Pass” which will give you access to more rewards and possibly new quests to unlock rewards faster. I’m hoping that with this update we see a surge in new and returning players coming to the game.

Now I would like to share with you all everything we’ve spent money on during December as I usually do. For the month of December we spent quite a bit more than usual primarily due to it being Christmas and all of the giveaways we did. Our money went towards lots of giveaways, our VPS, Minecraft Servers, Website fees, premium bot usage, and we no longer will be paying for our GTA Private server. Instead those fees will be transferred to paying for our new FiveM server which we’ll start paying on in January.

Before I close it off, I just want to congratulate everyone on making it through what seems like a historically difficult year. 2020 was terrible for so many people, including myself. Without Requiem, I really don’t know where I’d be right now. Being able to have such a wonderful community to come to everyday really makes it all worth it and that wouldn’t here without you. I say it a lot but I am so incredibly thankful for each and every person in this community. I never thought that over 2020 with it being such a rough year that I’d be part of something so amazing. Thank you for being the highlight of my year and here’s to making 2021 our best one yet!
