Patreon Update - July 28th 2023

Hope you all had an amazing weekend. The weather here in the UK has really taken a turn and it doesn't feel much like summer right now at all. The past week or so has been really miserable.
As I write this I am on my train back down to London after a lovely week both in the midlands and back down at home in Bournemouth. We had a wonderful few days with all those closest to our hearts and the above photo captures it perfectly (while i cuddle my newest godson Ari... and yes I'm still losing my mind over his name).
It's been a wonderful few weeks with my love and I wave him off on Friday as he goes back to work in Miami. I won't see him now until Oct when we are off to Rome for one of our closest friend's wedding! The goodbyes never get easier but it does feel better knowing it's only a couple of months each time.
So what next? I am SO excited knowing all the amazing content we've got coming in the next few weeks and ready to embrace how busy I'm going to be! I just know the conversations and discussions we're going to be having here on Patreon are going to be amazing!
I have now finished my Thank You, Alice Oseman video (though I am going to revisit it after a few days away and do some final tweaks before I go back and do all the colour and sound design). I shared the first draft with some of my nearest and dearest and some creator friends for feedback and was blown away with the love and support. It is by far my most honest and raw video I've made to date but it is the first of what I hope is many short film style videos. I am very, very nervous to put it out in the world but it's a step I have to take.
I plan on sharing that video with you all imminently before it goes live on YouTube. I just hope it makes it's way to Alice in some way so she can see how much of an impact she's had on my life.
Anyway - I am London bound and looking forward to getting stuck into the Looking Movie either this evening or tomorrow morning and wrapping up that incredible journey.

I imagine you will give them great advice and support as they get older. I am currently feeling a little sad but also excited and nervous. Yesterday I had my final day as a Manchester City Council employee after 25 years. I will be starting a new job as a homeless prevention coach for young people's charity on Monday.

But it’s different when it’s your own. A bit of a cliche, but true. My daughter is a blessing that I am very glad to have, even though she’s all grown up and living in Sussex, while we’re here in wet, windy, unsummery Cornwall. Looking forward to Looking, the movie and hoping that Patrick finally reads the writing on the wall..🙏🤞
